Jessica Simpson Wearing Kids’ Clothes After Taking Her Diet to Extremes: ‘Nothing Else Works’
Jessica Simpson continues to diet to extremes to stay as ultra-thin as possible and even more alarming, she’s taken to wearing kids’ clothes because regular sizes are too big for her skinny frame!
“She can’t even wear a women’s size 0, it swamps her body, but she thinks nothing of shopping in the girls’ section at department stores to find sizes that fit. She’s even giggled to friends that she’s raiding her 12-year-old daughter Maxwell’s closet,” a source tells Life & Style exclusively. “Nothing else works for her.”
“People have tried to talk sense to her and get her to eat more, but Jessica seems to loathe food. She’ll eat a bite and swirl the rest on her plate to make it look like it’s been eaten. She takes the smallest portion possible at parties,” the insider continues.
“She’s so gaunt and malnourished looking and she works out like a crazy person. Jessica doesn’t understand what she’s doing to herself,” the source explains.

Jessica’s famously lost 100 pounds following the birth of daughter Birdie in March 2019. However, fans have worried that her frame has continued to shrink over the years since then.
The entrepreneur initially impressed her Instagram followers when she shared how she was able to slip into a slim-fitting pair of jeans she hadn’t worn in years in a July 9, 2020, selfie, one day before her 40th birthday.
“I have kept these throwback True Religion jeans in my closet for 14 yrs (I’m not exaggerating!). I figured that since I’m in the final hours of my 30’s I’d give them another try, and hello 40, so nice to meet you,” Jess wrote in the caption.
Three years later, fans had become concerned about Jessica’s frame.
In a May 2023 series of Instagram photos outside of a recording studio, some users claimed the “Irresistible” singer looked “frail.” One of the snapshots included Jessica’s preteen daughter Maxwell holding her mom in the air in her arms as if she was the child.
“When your child weighs more than you do,” one person wrote in the comments, while another said, “You are smaller than your child. Eeek.” A user snarked to Jess that she was “Setting wonderful standards of body image to your daughters.”
“Am I the only person who thinks it’s strange when the ‘mom’ is having her ‘child’ holding her? She’s like 12 and holding her mom’s frail frame … not a good look Jess!” one user commented, as another follower told Jessica, “You should put some weight back on. Looked healthier that way imo.”
The Texas native seemingly addressed the scrutiny about her body in a September 2023 chat with Access Hollywood, telling the outlet, “We need to focus on our mentality about even talking about weight. I think it just doesn’t need to be a conversation.”
“My kids see me being still scrutinized,” she added, “and it’s very confusing to them because they’re like, ‘I don’t even understand this’… I’m like, ‘Honey, I wish I could explain it’.”
