John Cena Doesn’t Seem to Be Doing Well After His Breakup From Nikki Bella
It doesn't seem like he's taking this so well. Just hours after Nikki Bella and John Cena announced their split and called off their destination wedding, the WWE superstar took to social media to share some cryptic messages. The pro wrestler found comfort in some sad quotes from poet Walt Whitman, and he also shared a positive message about persevering throught "hardship" and "loss." John and Nikki decided to end their relationship after six years together and their announcement came nearly one year after the pair got engaged in the middle of the ring at WWE's Wrestlemania 33. Though it is unclear why Nikki and John broke up, fans think it had something to do with John's tendency to put his career before everything else and also the fact that he strongly was against the idea of having children.
But despite those issues, John and Nikki seemed very much in love. Just last month, John opened up about how difficult it is to maintain a relationship in the public eye when both partners are busy leading successful careers, but he seemed determined to make things work with the 33-year-old Total Divas star.
"Relationships are hard. Don’t ever think that love is easy. Love is beautiful, but we’ve had to come to the realization after being together for five years that love is not easy,” the 40-year-old told Us Weekly. "We work every day on us. We have our problems just like everybody else. Some of our problems are very public, some of them aren’t. But we work every day on us. Anytime I get upset, I always just realize that I can’t live without her and I love her and that’s why I cave in on a lot of stuff."
