Congrats are in order! Pop star Justin Bieber is engaged to his longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend Hailey Baldwin. Justin proposed to the model on Saturday, July 7 while the two were on a vacation in the Bahamas together, multiple sources revealed to TMZ.
Two eye witnesses were dining at a restaurant at a resort, which is where Justin popped the question. Everyone at the restaurant was dancing to salsa music when Justin's bodyguard ordered everyone to put their phones away and that's when Justin proposed.
Even though Justin and Hailey have yet to acknowledge the news on social media, Justin's father Jeremy Bieber took to Instagram on Sunday, July 8 to share a cryptic message that seems to hint at his son's engagement. "[Justin], proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!" Justin's dad wrote in his caption on Instagram.
Justin, 24, and Hailey, 21, have been friends for about nine years and they first sparked dating rumors in 2014 — shortly after one of Justin's many splits from his on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. But they denied the rumors for nearly two years until they finally confirmed that they were an item in 2016 after Justin gushed about Hailey in an interview with GQ, where he said that Hailey is "someone I really love. We spend a lot of time together."
But Justin and Hailey eventually fizzled out and he went on to date a handful of other women, including his ex-girlfriend Selena. Justin and Sel rekindled their relationship in the fall of 2017, and by March 2018, they were already broken up. By June, Justin and Hailey were hanging out together again.
In the past month, Justin and Hailey have been inseparable, and even though they haven't gone official on Instagram just yet, they've shared hints of their relationship with fans on Instagram. In the days leading up to their engagement, they were spotted dancing together and packing on the PDA. Congrats to the lovebirds!
