Bachelor Nation Couple Jason Tartick and Kaitlyn Bristowe Tease Engagement Within the Next Year

No one would accuse 33-year-old Kaitlyn and 30-year-old Jason of taking things too slow! Kait, who starred on The Bachelorette, and Jason, who fought for Becca Kufrin‘s heart on the same show in 2018, only confirmed that they began dating in January 2019.

Since then, they’ve taken several major steps. In May 2019, Kaitlyn admitted in an episode of her “Off The Vine” podcast that she and Jason were moving in together in Nashville, Tennessee. And that wasn’t all!

She also revealed that they would be adopting a golden retriever together in June. “I think I might cry telling this next part,” she continued in the podcast. “I’m just so happy. We are also adding a new member to the family. Ramen Noodle Vino Bristick. We’re getting a dog! We saved Ramen.”

TBH, you don’t adopt a dog with just anyone, because then things can get sticky if you break up. So that was already a sign things were moving in a more permanent direction for the pair. In an interview on July 1, they opened up more about their future relationship plans.

“I think I can speak for Kaitlyn,” Jason said after being asked by E! News if they had plans to get engaged. “I think Kaitlyn has an expectation within a year.”

To clarify, Kaitlyn added, “I don’t have an expectation. I don’t expect anything. I just think on the path that we’re on, it would make sense that this is the next step.” Totally sounds like it to us!

“And moving in, we have the confidence in our relationship,” she continued. “We just rescued a dog together so that just feels like the next step in our relationship.” Plus, she’s not the only one who feels that way.

“We’re on the same page. We know what we want out of this relationship,” Jason went on. “The next step is moving in together. We then threw in a little curveball and rescued a dog so we’re doing a crash course and all the stars are aligning for sooner rather than later.”

That makes a lot of sense. Both reality stars are in their thirties and hoping to settle down soon, and after all of the years learning what they don’t want, it gets pretty easy to spot something amazing and to hold on to it.

Not to mention, Kaitlyn probably isn’t enthusiastic about wasting several more years with a guy who won’t commit. After being engaged her Bachelorette winner Shawn Booth for three years, he never really seemed ready to pull the trigger.

Meanwhile, Kait made it clear that she wanted more. “We don’t even know where we see ourselves next week,” she told E! not long before their split. “We just hope we are healthy and happy. Maybe married. Maybe babies? Ok I’ll calm down.”

When she was asked how soon she might want kids back then, she said, “How soon are we talking? If soon is in the next three years then yes … We’re having fun being the crazy aunt and uncle for now.” It looks like that finally stopped being fun, and now she’s ready for something more serious. Which, of course, includes a wedding.

“We want to share things with [fans] but I think I want it a little more private,” she said, admitting a wedding with Jason likely won’t be televised. “There’s just nothing more important to me than family and friends and just making sure that all the most important people to us in the world that have put us in the position that we are in today are there to share that special day,” Jason chimed in.

“I just get goosebumps thinking about it,” he said, obviously more enthusiastic than Shawn ever was. “I think in typical Kaitlyn and Jason fashion, I would imagine a wedding of a lot of fun, parting, singing, dancing, eating, open bar, top shelf.”

And Kaitlyn gets goosebumps thinking about the step after that. “I’ve had baby fever for like the last 10 years of my life so this is definitely cooling that fever down a little bit,” she said of caring for her dog. “It’s just that we have so much going on that babies and a family is obviously part of the conversation, but we’re like when would we even have time to do this? I mean he’s got to put a ring on it first too.”

Don’t worry, girl, it sounds like he’s working on that!
