This would be wild! Rumors are swirling that Kate Middleton could be pregnant with twins — and while we’re not totally sure if she’s having one baby or two, we do know two babies could lead to a history-making change in the royal succession.

Kate, 35, and her husband, Prince William, also 35, recently announced on Monday, Sept. 4 that they are expanding their family. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news,” a Kensington Palace statement read at the time. Watch the video below to find out what would happen if Kate had twins!

Though Kate and William’s official statement made it seem like the Duchess — who is again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness — is only carrying one baby, the royal couple could be keeping the news of twins hush-hush for now. If Kate does give birth to two little ones, they would be the first set of twins in the British royal family since the 15th century!

Just one day after Kate’s pregnancy reveal, William spoke out about the happy announcement — and may have accidentally confessed Kate’s due date is in March 2018! “It’s very good news. There’s not much sleep going on at the moment. We need Kate to get over this first bit and then we can start celebrating. It’s always a bit anxious to start with, but she’s well,” he said. William’s statement suggested his wife is around 11 weeks along, as the 12-week mark is typically when women publicly reveal a pregnancy.
