Katy Perry 'Enjoying' Newborn Daughter Daisy: She's 'Adapting Well'

Embracing change! Katy Perry is “enjoying every minute of being a new mom” to her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, a source exclusively tells Life & Style.

The “Roar” artist, 35, welcomed baby No. 1 with fiancé Orlando Bloom on August 26 and is “adapting well,” the insider continues. “She hasn’t had much sleep and is pretty tired, but knows it’s part of the process. Her own mom, Mary, is helping out and Orlando is super hands-on.”

While Katy is a first-time parent, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 43, shares a 9-year-old son named Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr. “Orlando knows what he’s doing, having gone through it all before,” adds the source.

For Flynn’s part, the preteen is “super excited about having a little sister to watch over,” the insider says. “He’s such a well-behaved child and both Katy and Orlando feel confident that he’ll be a great role model for Daisy.”

Thankfully, Miranda, who shares sons Hart and Myles with husband Evan Spiegel, is totally supportive of her former flame. “She is really happy for Orlando and Katy and has already called to congratulate the pair,” details the source.

When it came to naming their bundle of joy, Katy and Orlando were on the same page. “They knew they were having a girl and drew up a list of their names before the birth,” the insider recalls. “But both agreed on Daisy. They think Daisy is such a pretty name for a girl and it obviously goes well with Bloom!”

The Grammy nominee hinted at her daughter’s moniker a number of times over the last nine months. In May, Katy released a single titled “Daisies” off her Smile album. Beyond that, the California native wore a daisy-printed dress and sandals that same month.

At first, Katy “was nervous about the birth but everything went smoothly,” assures the source. “She and Orlando can’t stop looking at Daisy and are so in love with her.”
