Going strong! Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant’s newly public relationship is getting “serious,” a source tells Life & Style exclusively. “They’re in love … Keanu can see himself spending the rest of his life with her.”
Given all of the artist’s wonderful qualities, it’s not hard to see why. “She’s kind, warm and spiritual, just like Keanu, and a great communicator,” dishes a second insider. “She’s one of the few people who’s managed to get Keanu to open up about his emotions and past.”
In 1999, the John Wick actor, 55, was dating a Hollywood assistant named Jennifer Syme. That year, she gave birth to the pair’s daughter, Ava, but sadly, she was stillborn. The couple parted ways shortly thereafter. Two years later, in 2001, Jennifer died in a car accident.
“Keanu was so traumatized by her death that there were times when he couldn’t get out of bed in the morning,” says the source, adding that “everything changed” when Alexandra, 46, came into his life. “He was in such a dark place for so long, but Alexandra’s positive outlook and support have played a huge part in helping him turn his life around. Some say she’s not only stolen his heart but she’s also saved him.”
Now that Keanu and Alexandra, who started off as friends and business partners, have taken things to the next level, the insider says “they’re inseparable.” Their go-to couple activities include romantic candlelit dinners and secret vacations. Additionally, Alexandra has started taking motorcycle riding lessons because it’s one of Keanu’s favorite pastimes.
As lovestruck as Keanu is, the insider notes he’s still got a ways to go moving on from this past. “He’s already lost one love and can’t help but be afraid that it could happen again — though he’s working through these commitment issues,” explains the source. “He’s one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. If anyone deserves to find love, it’s Keanu.”
