For years, Kim Kardashian has openly talked about her struggle with psoriasis, but that’s not stopping her from showing off her bare skin. On Monday, March 11, the reality star, 38, posted a close-up video of her makeup-free face showing everyone that behind all the glam, she doesn’t have perfect skin and that’s OK.

Kim wrote “psoriasis face” on her Instagram Story because why hide it? After years of battling the skin condition, it looks like she’s finally come to terms with it. According to Mayo Clinic, “psoriasis is a common skin condition that speeds up the life cycle of skin cells. It causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin. The extra skin cells form scales and red patches that are itchy and sometimes painful.” Unfortunately, there’s no cure for the psoriasis, but it can be treated.

In December 2018, the mom-of-three sought fans’ help on social media. “I think the time has come I start a medication for psoriasis. I’ve never seen it like this before and I can’t even cover it at this point. It’s taken over my body,” she wrote on Twitter. “Has anyone tried a medication for psoriasis & what kind works best? Need help ASAP!!!” It’s not clear whether or not she has started using medication since then, but at least now, she has no problem with exposing her vulnerable side.

Kim was first diagnosed with the skin condition back in 2011. “When the doctor tells me I have psoriasis, I have heard of it before because my mom has always had it but my mom didn’t have like red, flaky dots all over her,” she said on Keeping Up With the Kardashians at the time.

“My career is doing ad campaigns and swimsuit photo shoots,” she continued. “People don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines. Imagine what the tabloids would do to me if they saw all these spots.”

Eight years later and she’s still on top!
