'Kissing Booth 2’ Cast Relationships: Jacob Elordi, Joey King and More

Are they or aren’t they? The cast of Netflix’s The Kissing Booth 2 are young, hot and have surprising romantic histories. Joey King, Jacob Elordi, Joel Courtney turned into major breakout stars since the first film premiered in 2018. Costars Joey and Jacob, who play Shelly and Noah, had a longtime relationship in the spotlight after working together during the first Kissing Booth movie.

“Was it love at first sight? Well, I thought he was very cute when we first met, but it started as a friendship,” the Act star told Bello during their romance. “Right away we were talking about gross things with each other. But before long I started to realize, ‘Hey, I think I kind of like this person!’ It was such an interesting experience meeting your boyfriend on set because you spend so much time together and become so close so fast.”

By early 2019, the duo split and speculation from fans about their relationship made things even harder. “All you can really do at that point is shut your phone off and crawl into your sister’s bed and watch Friends with her, because when you’re going through something and the world wants to go through it with you or [wants] to get every piece of detail from you about it, it’s really difficult,” she told Refinery29 at the time. “I think that the best way to make it go away is to just not acknowledge it.”

While working with your ex could be potentially awkward, Joey took it all in stride during the latest sequel. “I am very much, like, a frickin’ huge fan of The Kissing Booth,” she said during an appearance on the “Mood With Lauren Elizabeth” podcast. “I’m a fan of how it resonated with the world and it resonated with me. So going back, and doing that, and making the sacrifice, obviously, what everyone is thinking about. I’m not outwardly addressing, but what I’m kinda on the sly addressing, making those sacrifices was totally worth it.”

Joey King

After her split from Jacob, the Summer 03 actress reportedly began dating Steven Piet, a producer for the Emmy-nominated Hulu series, The Act.
They were reportedly “very affectionate” during a group date with Joey’s sisters in September 2019, a source told E! News, and “cuddled” together while watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In February 2020, the actress shared a photo with her rumored beau during a trip to Paris.

Jacob Elordi

Jacob has been romantically tied to his Euphoria costar Zendaya for the past year. They raised suspicions in August 2019 when they were spotted vacationing in Greece together followed by a series of dates over the next few months.
Although the Australian actor told GQ that Zendaya was “like [his] sister” during an interview in November 2019, no one was really buying it. Rumors came to a head when they were photographed kissing while together in New York City in February 2020.
They don’t appear to be hiding anything anymore. Their last public outing was in March 2020 at a farmer’s market in Los Angeles.

Joel Courtney

Joel, who plays Lee in The Kissing Booth, is head over heels for his fiancée, Mia Scholink. The pair got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2020.
“I like it, so I just had to go and put a ring on it,” he announced on Instagram after popping the question. “Stay tuned! Sooooooo much more to come!!!”

Maisie Richardson-Sellers

Maisie will be portraying Chloe in the film. She is dating singer and activist Clay. “I have to admit, the music I listen to (on repeat) is that of my partner, Clay. Her voice is otherworldly — check her out,” the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow star gushed about her talented girlfriend to E! News.
The pair are both strong activists for LGBTQIA+ rights, specifically raising their voices for the Black transgender community.
