Move Over, Hemsworth Bros! Jacob Elordi is Hollywood’s New Australian Crush — Get to Know Him
Euphoria fans never saw this coming! Since Zendaya and her costar Jacob Elordi were spotted vacationing together in Athens, Greece in August 2019, viewers were shook about Rue and Nate’s possible real-life love. After the contentious on-screen couple was seen smooching in NYC in February 2020 — effectively confirming those out-of-character dating rumors — we decided to do a little deep dive on the 23-year-old Aussie and give you some fast facts.
Who is Jacob Elordi? He’s cute.
Yeah, we agree. The Hollywood newbie is an Australian actor, born on June 26, 1997. Considering he’s a late June baby, that makes him a Cancer, astrologically speaking. (And that alone says a lot about his performance in Euphoria, y’all.)
He grew up in Brisbane with his two sisters but has since moved to the U.S. for his acting career.
Are Zendaya and Jacob actually dating?
Considering they were seen kissing while out and about in New York before the coronavirus lockdowns took effect … all signs point to yes.
They first sparked romance rumors last summer. “They looked like they were getting a little cozy,” an eyewitness told Us Weekly about their time in Greece in August 2019. “At one point, they were walking with each other and being a little flirty.”
Where can I see him ~be sexy~ on screen?
Glad you asked. Jacob’s first big role came in a 2018 Australian film called Swinging Safari, alongside big names like Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce. Prior to that, he had an uncredited part in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but if you keep your eyes peeled, he’s easy to spot.
The same year, he broke onto the American entertainment scene by starring in the Netflix movie The Kissing Booth, costarring as Noah Flynn alongside The Act breakout star Joey King. He now stars in the HBO series Euphoria, through which the world has begun to love him (or hate him, we guess, depending on how you feel about the character).

We get it! Believe it or not, he used to date his Kissing Booth costar and there are several fan accounts dedicated to the former couple. But as of now, he seems to be in something resembling a relationship with the Shake It Up alum.
Does Jacob use social media? I wanna hit that ‘follow.’
He does — but he’s not super active on it, so don’t get too excited. His Instagram only has 17 posts to date and it seems he doesn’t have a Twitter account. Most of the pics and vids are promos for the HBO series and other behind-the-scenes snaps, though, so you might wanna keep tabs just in case.
What is Jacob’s latest project?
Aside from the upcoming Euphoria season 2, the Aussie hunk came back for the Kissing Booth sequel, again starring opposite his ex-girlfriend. Joey, 20, revealed what it was like to come back to work with her former flame during an interview in October 2019.
“I am very much, like, a frickin’ huge fan of The Kissing Booth,” she gushed. “I’m a fan of how it resonated with the world and it resonated with me. So going back, and doing that, and making the sacrifice, obviously, what everyone is thinking about. I’m not outwardly addressing, but what I’m kinda on the sly addressing, making those sacrifices was totally worth it.”
