Too Much Holiday Cheer? Kourtney Kardashian Slammed for Her ‘Extra’ Holiday Decor
Too much? After Kourtney Kardashian shared a photo carousel showing off the multiple Christmas trees throughout her house, some fans accused her of being “extra” and out of touch with the tough economic times.
“It’s difficult looking at your lavish decor when my family and many others I know struggle to buy groceries for their family,” one person wrote in the comments of Kourtney’s Sunday, December 1, Instagram post.
“Looks like they are selling Christmas trees,” another person chimed in, as one user told Kourtney, 45, “Go look up the definition of extra……”
“You gotta be sh—ing me. People living in tents in downtown cities and you have 52 Christmas trees. We live in a totally f@ck3d up society,” one person left in the comments, while another asked, “Who needs this many Xmas trees. Why not donate to families who can’t have Christmas?”
“I can’t imagine how much money they spend on Christmas. And here I am wondering how I’m even going to do anything plus bills and food,” one fan pondered.
However, the comments weren’t all critical.
“A lot of haters here. This woman can decorate her home any was she wishes,” one fan wrote, while another added, “To all the haters commenting on here nasty things. I know if I was able to afford this, I’d make my house a magical winter wonderland for my kids, too.”
Kourtney’s photos and videos showed a giant tree inside her foyer, followed by the wall of six trees that lined a wall in her living room. Just outside the doors, more pine trees were decorated in lights outside for the reality star to gaze out at, as well as shots of other Christmas trees in her yard.
The Poosh founder shared a few throwback photos to prove Christmas has always had a special place in her heart, including what appeared to be a large tree from her childhood with numerous presents at the bottom. Another snapshot showed a white flocked tree in a pink bedroom that appeared to belong to her daughter, Penelope, whom she shares with former partner Scott Disick.
Kourtney simply captioned the post, “Hello December.”
This is the second time in two months that Kourtney has caught flack for her holiday decorations. She took heat over a racy Halloween yard display showing two inflated skeletons straddling each other in an October 4 Instagram post.
The Hulu personality captioned that post, “Hello October,” as it included several other Halloween-themed photos in her carousel.
“Be a role model to your kids and not a muse for your husband [Travis Barker],” one user wrote underneath the photo. Another added, “As a mother of four kids, I find it disgusting you would do that to those inflatables.”
“The skeleton inflatables are repulsive,” a third quipped. “Do you forget you’re a mother? Your poor children.”
In addition to Penelope, 12, Kourtney shares sons Mason and Reign with Scott, 41. The Lemme gummies founder married Travis Barker in May 2022 and welcomed their first child, son Rocky Thirteen, together in November 2023.
