Maybe it wasn’t totally a bad romanceLady Gaga and her ex-fiancé Christian Carino announced their split on February 19, but she’s already seeing him out and about as the Academy Awards draw closer and closer. The nominee, 32, and her former beau, 50, were seen having a conversation at CAA’s pre-Oscars party on February 22, according to Us Weekly, and Gaga’s A Star Is Born costar Bradley Cooper was there, too.

“Christian [Carino] walked into the party … said hi to Gaga at one point,” an insider told the outlet. “But it was brief and then he went to another room.” Well, at least these two are on speaking terms.

She was also seen talking “in a corner [together] all night” with her 44-year-old costar, with whom fans and followers suspect a bit of a romance going on behind the scenes. “They looked so close, they almost seem like a couple,” the insider revealed. They are pretty cute, we’ll give them that much, even if they are just great friends at this point.

Gaga and Bradley are super close, so it totally makes sense fans are shipping them. Between her gushing comments about how he’s “the best director in [her] eyes” or the persistent quote about how he was the one person out of 100 in the room who believed in her, it’s hard to not want them to get together. But the first-time director is still with his longtime girlfriend, Irina Shayk, and they share a one-year-old daughter, Lea — so we don’t expect him and Gaga to shack up any time soon.

Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) sparked rumors that her engagement was over after she attended the 2019 Grammys without her man and her incredible engagement ring. The news broke that their two-year relationship was, in fact, over just days after the awards show.

No matter what her love life situation is, we don’t think Gaga is going to let it get in the way of the incredible awards season she’s having. Personally, she is up for Best Actress and Best Original Song for “Shallow” at the 2019 Academy Awards on February 24, while the musical film she starred in is up for another six awards.
