There are few women on social media right now with as much ~clout~ as Lindsey Pelas. Amassing 7.4 million followers on Instagram alone, she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with. Don’t be fooled by what you see on the Internet, though! This blonde bombshell isn’t just your run-of-the-mill Instagram model. Sure, she’s basically the epitome of #fitspo, but there’s far more to the Louisiana native than meets the eye.

In fact, Lindsey recently launched what’s sure to be a wildly successful podcast titled, Eyes Up Here. Question is, why did Lindsey decide to step out from in front of the camera and get behind the mic?

After being a guest on several podcasts including Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty, Sexy, Funny, The Todd Shapiro Show, and Bert Kreischer’s Bertcast, Lindsey decided, with a little encouragement, to take the plunge and start her own. “I thought it was a great way to connect with people and see a better side of me,” the 27-year-old told Life & Style. “Online it’s a lot of glam and a lot of sexy, and it’s impossible to get to know a person like that.”

As far as the name is concerned, Eyes Up Here works on a multitude of different levels. “For starters, a Twitter follower actually made it up,” Lindsey began. “At first, it makes a lot of sense [for me], because it’s like ‘pay attention to me’ or ‘ignore the sexy,'” she continued. “But I think I’m starting to like that [name] for my guests and team as well. Every person faces some kind of stereotype based on the presumption of who they are or what they look like, so I kind of like ‘Eyes Up Here’ as something for everyone.”

When it comes to guests, Lindsey has a bunch of special things lined up. “As I’ve done it lately, I like the idea of meeting people in the industry,” Lindsey explained. “I am living in a Hollywood atmosphere — we have comedians, actors, models, producers, athletes, celebrity trainers — there’s such a variety I have planned.”

Beyond keeping her audience entertained, Lindsey expressed “wanting to get to know her guests on a deeper level.” Addressing things such as “social issues” is something she’s really focused on. Recently, the social media star has covered things like ageism in the modeling industry and women in comedy on her show. She also plans to touch on topics like depression, race, and gender. “I have a whole list,” Lindsey assured.

Lindsey isn’t in the podcast game for the followers, though! “My goal, if I had a goal in life, is that I want people to understand each other and I want to learn to do that through humor and entertainment,” she explained. “I want people to feel related to and just learn about each other.”
