After Lisa Vanderpump’s mom, Jean Vanerpump, tragically passed away at the age of 84, the reality star, 58, is taking time for herself to mourn — that includes missing fellow Vanderpump Rules cast mates Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s wedding.

“Lisa will not be able to go to the wedding,” according to a source who spoke to Radar. The insider also added that the future newlyweds are understanding of her decision not to attend their nuptials, which takes place on Monday, June 24. “They have reached out to send their condolences, and accept she needs to step away from filming the show right now so she can attend to her family.” While the TV personality is using the time to focus on herself as well as her loved ones, she also “doesn’t want the [couple’s] special time to be overshadowed.”

The loss of Lisa’s mom comes a year after her brother Mark Vanderpump died of suicide in April 2019. “For five weeks I stayed home. Obviously, just being the two of us, we were more like twins,” Lisa said on Vanderpump Rules‘ last season. “It’s been incredibly difficult, but we have to keep moving forward and make the people that were so important in our lives proud as they watch down over us.”

Lisa, who quit The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, said dealing with her brother’s loss caused a lot of stress for her on the show. “It was such a brutal season for me, and it was at a time where I was floundering,” she said on RuPaul on Monday, June 17. “Everybody always says, ‘Oh, you look like you’ve got your life together,’ but I started that show this season like, two or three months after my brother passed. I just wasn’t in the right space.”

Hopefully, Lisa can take the time she needs to feel better. Our thoughts go out to her and her loved ones.
