Love Is Blind’s Marissa Defends Her Treatment of Nick at Reunion: ‘I’m No Bully’

Love Is Blind star Marissa George defended the way she treated Nick Dorka during the reunion while discussing his relationship with Hannah Jiles.

Just hours after fans watched Marissa, 32, reunite with her costars during the season reunion on Wednesday, October 30, she took to Instagram to issue a statement for the way she confronted Nick’s behavior on the show.

“I show up every day as my authentic self – I make mistakes, say the wrong thing and sometimes stand by those who don’t deserve it, because authenticity matters more to me than curating an image,” she began in a text post.

After noting that she came into the reunion “without resentment,” Marissa said that she “never justified” Hannah’s mean treatment of Nick, 29, on the show. “Watching this season, I was as surprised as anyone. On stage, I addressed a specific comment Nick made about her – a fact I know firsthand,” she wrote, referencing her claim that Nick made nasty comments about Hannah’s appearance.

“Nick’s dishonesty doesn’t excuse Hannah’s verbal abuse; those are two separate issues. When her behavior was raised, I told her she was wrong – something I’ve done privately, in interviews, and on stage,” Marissa continued. “I don’t control the final edit and won’t be blames for others’ silence.”

Marissa continued to stand by her comments by writing, “I’m no bully – I simply said what others wouldn’t on camera.”

After the episode aired, several fans took to social media to slam Marissa for being so hard on Nick instead of her ex Ramses Prashad after he broke her heart by calling off their wedding.

“Why does Marissa have more smoke for Nick than Ramses. What is going on … Hannah can defend herself,” one person wrote via X. Another chimed in, “Marissa said all that to Nick when she really wanted to say it to Ramses, but didn’t say it to Ramses because she still wants him to choose her back.”

Marissa also addressed her decision to not fight with Ramses, 35, during the reunion. “For those who expected me to ‘go off,’ know that I will always handle things my way,” she continued in the text post. “We’ve had many conversations since our breakup, and I wish him well.”

“Marked unsafe from the LIB S7 reunion; I’m officially a statement in the notes app girl. Smh,” she captioned the text post.

While fans weren’t happy with Marissa’s idea to call out Nick, he did admit to being unhappy with Hannah’s appearance when they met in person for the first time.

After Nick initially denied allegations that he called Hannah, 27, a “grenade” and asked his male costars to “rate” her appearance, the realtor eventually owned up to making comments about his ex’s looks.

“Yeah, I said I was underwhelmed when I saw Hannah at the reveal,” he said. “I never said she was a grenade.”

Meanwhile, Hannah also faced backlash for her cruel treatment of Nick during their brief relationship. While appearing on the October 15 episode of “The Viall Files,” Hannah admitted that she “learned there’s things [she] need[s] to work on.”

“For example, I am a very direct person. I know that but I think my delivery is rough — and delivery is everything,” the reality star said. “When you can see it you’re like, ‘Gosh that was really harsh.’ So I’ve learned to be kinder [and] work on my delivery.”
