Love Is Blind’s Marissa Wanted to Get Back Together With Ramses After Split, But He Said No

Love Is Blind star Marissa George revealed she wanted to get back together with Ramses Prashad after their split, though he turned her down.

“We saw each other a few times after [we broke up]. I took the breakup really hard, as you can imagine from the scene of me crying and stuff,” Marissa, 32, told Glamour about her split from Ramses, 35, on Wednesday, October 23. “It took me probably six months to get back on track and to really start to move on.”

She added that she “saw him a few times” when she visited Washington, D.C. “There was one time where we talked one day for like, 8 and a half [or] 9 hours on the phone, and I thought we were gonna get back together after that,” Marissa admitted.

Fans watched Marissa and Ramses get engaged during season 7 of Love Is Blind, which was filmed in October 2023 and premiered one year later. While they had an instant connection, the pair learned that they had some major differences after they left the pods.

After they had intense disagreements about their thoughts on the military and their sex life, the pair got into a heated argument over their differences during episode 11. Ramses ultimately called off their wedding during episode 12, which left Marissa in tears as she claimed she felt blindsided.

Despite calling it quits and attempting to move on, Marissa and Ramses reconnected in February and started talking regularly via phone calls.

“[In] February or March, I did ask him if he wanted to get back together,” Marissa told the outlet. “I’m not really ashamed to say that because I’m someone who’s like, ‘If you feel it, you feel it, like, what’s the worst that can happen?’ And he’s like, ‘Nah.’ So after that, we just stopped communication.”

The law school student then added that she still isn’t clear on what happened to make Ramses call off their engagement.

“Throughout the whole breakup — which made it worse — he couldn’t really give me a reason. To this day, I don’t know if he really has a good reason,” the Netflix star said. “I think he has tried to pinpoint certain things, like that I listened to podcasts in the morning and I sing in the shower type of stuff. But at the time of the breakup, he was just like, ‘I don’t feel at peace anymore, and I feel like our energies off and I’m gonna hurt you in five years, but I love you and want to be with you, but this is moving too fast.’”

Marissa was determined to make their relationship work and even suggested compromises. “I’m like, ‘OK, well, let’s just not move fast. You stay in DC, I stay in Baltimore. But stay together,’” she said. “And he was like, ‘No.’ And that’s a very hard thing to grasp: How do you supposedly love this person so so much, and they don’t even want to be with you? Then I’m thinking, it’s me, because he’s saying it’s my energy.”

She even ”offered to not get married” and just “stay engaged.”

“Or we can do everything on our own timeline. We don’t have to move in immediately. That was never the plan anyway,” Marissa recalled of the suggestions she made. “We don’t have to be engaged to date. It was a hard no and that is what really tore me up.”
