‘Love Island USA’ Star Chelley Bissainthe Breaks Silence on Ace Greene Split: ‘Sometimes Loving Means Letting Go’
Love Island USA Season 7 alum Chelley Bissainthe is officially single again — and she’s taking the high road.
The reality star confirmed that she and Ace Greene have split during an interview with SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, previewed on Friday, December 12. Chelley didn’t sugarcoat how tough the decision was, but she kept the tone classy.
“It really was a tough decision for the both of us and very hard to decide, but, you know, when you love someone, sometimes loving someone means letting go,” Chelley, 28, explained. “So I think we just got to that decision.”
She added that the two reached a “mutual level of respect and understanding that, you know, we wanted this to work, but sometimes things don’t work,” noting, “Couples go through things that are very challenging and sometimes the best thing to do is just, you know, make a decision that needs to be made.”
The pair became one of season 7’s standout couples after sparking a connection on the show, which began in June and wrapped in August. They made it official in the villa and left the island together on Day 30 — and fans immediately shipped them hard.
What Happened Between Chelley and Ace?
Chelley didn’t spill drama, but she did make it clear the breakup wasn’t impulsive.
“We had a lot of conversation, you know, and again, at the end of the day, it was just like a mutual agreement of like, you know what? This is for the best,” she shared. The pair even considered how fans would respond as they worked through things.
“But I’ll trust that they’ll understand that this decision needed to be made if we were able to come to this mutual decision,” she said.
As for the details? Don’t expect a tell-all.
“The details aren’t really necessary,” Chelley noted, emphasizing that they’re “peaceful” and “on the same page.”

Were Their Feelings Real?
Chelley insisted their connection wasn’t for show.
“Our relationship, from the very beginning, our understanding was our relationship wasn’t for the press, for the media or anything,” she said. “It was because I truly love you, you truly love me.”
Still, she acknowledged that sometimes you need to walk away before something “turns into something it never needs to be.”
What’s Next for Chelley?
A full rebrand, apparently — but a quiet one.
“Honestly, this whole process is going to come with a lot of healing, a lot of growth, a lot of time with myself,” she said, asking for privacy as she steps into a “self-focused” chapter.
