Marc and Jennifer were married from 2004 to 2014 and remain great friends to this day. They’re also extremely friendly coparents when it comes to raising their 11-year-old twins, Max and Emme. Although they seem to absolutely adore each other, the “On the Floor” singer assured fans long ago that their romantic relationship is far behind them.

“I think we’re really good the way we are,” the Hustlers actress dished to Kelly Ripa during an interview in 2017. “We’re always going to be great friends, I’m always going to be there for him, he’s always going to be there for me. We share something very special in the kids — and we’re there for them, and that’s the main thing.”

Jennifer and the former baseball player, 43, have been together for two years and recently announced their engagement on March 9. The songstress revealed that the duo shares a very similar outlook on life and work, which makes their bond strong. “It’s great to have a best friend and a partner you can really build with, and I just feel like with Alex and I, that’s what it’s like,” she confessed on April 9 during an interview on SiriusXM.

Seeing eye-to-eye on what matters most to them has made a world of difference. She continued, “It was just having somebody who understands you from the inside as far as like, ‘I really want to work hard. I really love what I do, and I really want to work hard at it’ and understand that.”
