*Warning: There’s a chance that you’ll break a sweat just from reading this article.* While we had no doubt that Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez go HAM in the gym, nothing could have prepared us for what their fitness routine actually looks like. On March 22, the retired MLB powerhouse, 43, took to his personal YouTube channel to share a video of what a typical workout for the pair looks like.
Titled “The Grind,” the minute-long clip follows J. Lo, 49, and her longtime boo throughout the gym. For starters, we now know that the A-list couple wears matching sweatsuits — that A-Rod considers “f–king goofy” — when they exercise. If that’s not #goals, we don’t know what is.
In addition to the treadmill, lifting weights and extreme stretching, Jennifer and Alex also like to include some playful dance time in their routine. Which, TBH, is pretty much the only aspect of their workout that doesn’t look painful. Speaking of painful, the proud papa announced, “Alright, day No. 3 workout. Let’s go,” at the beginning of the video. Could he be referring to his 10-day no sugar, no carb challenge? Fun fact: A-Rod’s challenge is so popular, that even Jen’s ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck gave it a try!
At the end of the day, it’s a good thing that Alex is equally as committed to health and fitness as his soon-to-be wifey. Her “life revolves around exercise,” a source recently confessed to Life & Style. “J. Lo easily spends more hours at the gym every day than she does anywhere else, including her home, and she’d spend more time there if she had it,” the source continued.
If that sounds too extreme for you, don’t worry. There is one aspect of Jennifer’s routine that seems totally doable. “She’s even been known to take power naps in the gym, which really help her to recharge,” the source confessed. Hmmm, nap, you say? Sounds good to us.
