Speaking his truth! Mark Ronson came out as sapiosexual in a Thursday, September 19 interview with Good Morning Britain“Now we know you are single, and Mark has got very involved in our debate backstage, you are identifying as a man who likes intellect?” Kate Harraway, cohost of the talk show, asked the powerhouse musician, 44.

“Yeah, I didn’t know that there was a word for it,” Mark admitted. “We were all arguing backstage in the dressing room with a couple of your producers. And yes, I feel like I identify as sapiosexual.”

“So, you are coming out as sapiosexual,” cohost Ben Shepherd chimed in. “Out and proud on Good Morning Britain!” Kate added. “Yeah,” Mark replied.

Mark’s last serious relationship was with French actress Joséphine de La Baume, who appeared in his 2010 music video for “The Bike Song.” The pair were married for six years before separating in 2017. Joséphine, 34, and Mark finalized their divorce in 2018.

Prior to his marriage, Mark was engaged to Parks and Recreation actress Rashida Jones from 2003 to 2004.

Additionally, he has been romantically linked to a number of women over the years including singer Samantha Urbani, Saturday Night Live crew member Rebecca Shwartz and models Cosi Theodoli-Braschi and Daisy Lowe.

Now, for those of you who may be unaware of what sapiosexuality is, no worries! We’ve got you covered. GMB previously did a segment with author and broadcaster Nichi Hodgson who offered a detailed explanation.

“The definition means intelligence first then attraction,” Nichi, 36, said. “I date men and women and identify as bisexual, and I realized the thing that linked all people that I have dated has been their brains.”

Nichi continued, “We know a certain percentage of the population is sapiosexual. It’s always existed, we just didn’t have a word for it.”

Mark coming out as sapiosexual has received some online backlash from his fans — particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community.

“I don’t want to be reactionary, but I think I draw the line at ‘comes out as sapiosexual,’ one user tweeted. “Just say you like any gender and go. Other than that, it’s just extra,” added another.

“OK … so you’re bi? I’m confused,” a third user wrote, while a fourth echoed, “What is this? Like people who are intelligent is not a sexuality.”

Here’s hoping Mark is ignoring the negativity and continuing to live his best life!
