Meghan Trainor Admits to Using Weight Loss Medication Amid Body Transformation: ‘I Feel Great’
Meghan Trainor revealed which weight loss medication she used to help her lose weight amid her body transformation journey.
The “All About That Bass” singer, 31, took to Instagram post on Monday, March 31, to address criticism about her changing appearance over the years.
“Feeling so honored to be recognized by @billboard Women in Music as a Hitmaker — what a dream!” she began in the lengthy caption, which was accompanied by photos of her at the event. “But it’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here. This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry.”
After admitting that she doesn’t “look like I did 10 years ago,” Meghan said that she’s “been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.”
“I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my [second] pregnancy,” she wrote. “And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”
Meghan wrapped up the message on a positive note. “Here’s to celebrating talent, growth and the power of putting yourself first,” she said. “Let’s keep shifting the convo to what REALLY matters.”
Mounjaro is a medication that’s “used to help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes,” according to WebMD. While Mounjaro was originally intended to be used for diabetes, several people have turned to the drug to help with weight loss.
Shortly after Meghan shared the post about her weight loss, several fans rushed to the comments section to praise her for being open about her health.
“SO proud of you! You owe NO ONE an explanation! You work so incredibly hard in all areas of your life and you absolutely crush it all! We love you, your talent, you dedication, your music, your kindness and I could go on. You’re an inspiration! You deserve this award and more! Cheers to you, our hit maker queen,” one person commented. Another chimed in, “Thank you for saying out loud and proud about Mounjaro! I also use tirzepatide and it’s because of this drug that I will live longer and be healthier for my kids — I am so thankful! Congratulations on your award!”

Meghan – who shares kids Riley, 4, and Barry, 21 months, with husband Daryl Sabara – has always been open about her appearance. In addition to discussing her weight loss, she also publicly shared her thoughts on plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures.
In November 2024, Meghan admitted to getting “too much Botox” during her “Workin’ On It with Meghan Trainor & Ryan Trainor” podcast. “I messed up. I’ve had Botox, like, a handful of times … just my forehead,” she said.
Not only did she overdo it on the Botox, but Meghan also shared that she regretted getting filler on her upper lip. “Someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip,” she said. “And I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living — it was not true.”
