Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak Reunite at the Oscars, Reignite Our Kelly and Ryan Dreams
Talk about #BestFriendGoals! Mindy Kaling returned to the red carpet after welcoming her daughter, Katherine, in December. And she did it in style — by attending the Vanity Fair Oscars party with her bestie BJ Novak.
The two — who have long sparked relationship rumors since starring on The Office together — looked like a little more than BFFs while acting as arm candy for one another! At least our hearts are hoping that’s the case. And if you think the pair have the most unconventional relationship of all-time, well, you’re not alone! Mindy herself admitted that their relationship is bizarre AF during a 2015 interview.
“I will freely admit — my relationship with BJ Novak is weird as hell. He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend,” she gushed. “I guess you could describe our relationship as a ‘romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments,’ but I don’t think Facebook would accept this as a new status.”
It looks like their friendship has since been upgraded — as in a video the new mom posted earlier today, she dubbed the Book With No Pictures author her “best friend.” Not to mention, much to the joy of The Office fans everywhere, the two have lovingly described one another as each other’s “soup snakes,” which — TBH — is mostly enough for most of us.
But then again, not all of us. So, if you need me, I’ll be listening to Kelly and Ryan highlight reels while browsing conspiracy theories that claim to prove that BJ is the father of Mindy’s baby. Also, I’ll be refreshing Insta for more amazing pics of this amazing would-be couple. Just call me a youth, because I finally understand what “shipping” and “OTP” mean.
