It’s been a challenging year for Nikki Bella, but she’s handling everything with grace. The Total Bellas star, 35, took to Twitter to look back on everything that has happened since calling off her wedding to ex John Cena last April … one year ago!

“Nothing is better than when you make a hard decision, contemplate it, and finally realize it was for the best,” she wrote on Monday, April 22. “I woke up this morning smiling, said thank you God and universe out loud. Never have done that. Feels so good! So happy 🙂 Trust the journey! I love you all! N”

While the reality star didn’t clarify what her difficult choice was, many believe it has to do with breaking things off with the wrestler, 41, after they spent six years together. They got engaged in April 2017, and weeks before they were set to marry, they broke off their engagement in April 2018. After that, they reconciled and got back together before officially calling it quits in the summer. Since then, they’ve both started seeing other people.

Nikki has been tied to her former Dancing with the Stars partner Artem Chigvintsev, whom she confirmed having a relationship with on March 27. “Yes, we are dating,” she admitted on “The Bellas Podcast.” “Yes, I spend the night at his house. Yes, we have date lunches at Joan’s on Third and we like to get food for his house — or should I say, produce from the farmer’s markets. So, let’s consider this rumor killed,” she added.

On the other hand, John has been linked to new girl Shay Shariatzadeh, whom he’s been spotted getting cozy with a few times. While Nikki is glad to see John happy, she took to the April 10 podcast to confess her “stomach went into knots” upon seeing photos of them together.

However, at the end of the day, she wants what is best for him. “As long as John is happy, I’m happy. But let me tell you, she breaks his heart? Wow. I will rack attack her in a heartbeat. I’m still protective of that man,” she revealed. We totally get it!
