Nikki Bella Dishes on the Potential of Children With Boyfriend Artem Chigvintsev: ‘I’ve Heard About His Baby Fever Forever’
This couple’s got baby fever — well, one of them, anyway! Nikki Bella got real about the prospect of having children with her boyfriend, Artem Chigvintsev, on the red carpet at Variety Children’s Charity Poker & Casino Night. It looks like the couple has quite a few years ahead of them before babies come into the picture.
“Oh my God. Artem, I knew even when we were just friends and dancing, he would talk about being a dad and wanting a daughter first. And I remember he used to tell me, he’s like, ‘you just seem like you would be a mom one day. Like it’s so weird to think you weren’t,'” the Total Bellas alum said about her man before they got together. “At that point, when we were dancing.”
But according to the former WWE star, the 37-year-old dancer was convincing — but not quite enough to change Nikki’s mind. “I was like, no, I’m cool. I’m not going to be a mom. It’s all good,” she continued. “So I’ve heard about his baby fever forever, but I’ve told him look, ‘I don’t know if I need to be on three birth controls, but we are not having kids anywhere in the near future.'”
Bummer! But honestly, we don’t blame the couple for wanting to go at their own pace. Besides, the duo has only been together for a few months — babies aren’t a game time decision, y’all.
Nikki announced her relationship with Artem was ~official~ back on March 27, but the couple was still taking things slow as far as labeling their romance. Then, on the July 17 episode of “The Bellas Podcast” with twin sis Brie Bella, she announced the duo was officially putting a name on their connection.
“We’re boyfriend and girlfriend,” she announced on the show. “We’re in a relationship!” Clearly, the brunette beauty was thrilled to share the news, as she said she was “smiling ear to ear” when she revealed things were boyfriend/girlfriend official. “Why do I feel like I’m in high school right now?”
We do, too, girl — it’s like our BFF just got with the guy of her dreams! Let’s hope there are some babies in the future for these two.
