Nikki Bella Admits to Going Through ‘Super Weak Moments’ Amid Artem Chigvintsev Divorce
Nikki Garcia (formerly known as Nikki Bella) admitted she is going through “super weak moments” amid her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev.
During the Monday, December 16, episode of “The Nikki & Brie Show” podcast, Nikki, 41, looked back on her divorce from Artem, 42, after a listener submitted a voicemail about her own divorce.
“I think what was the best for me was the disconnecting from so much and facing a lot — and to have been doing the work for so many years leading up that helped prep me and give me a great foundation — but I just want you to know that you are so much stronger than you think,” she said after she listened to the voicemail.
She continued, “In our strongest moments, we definitely have been super weak moments, and we just have to figure out how we get through that. And what do we do, and who do we need to lean on, and what do we need to bring into our life and surround ourselves with, and what can feed our soul and make us strong? And I’ve dedicated myself to that the past few months, and it truly helps.”
Nikki then admitted that she hasn’t had “a day without tears,” though said she will eventually “get there.”
“I just know that situations like this or divorce or whatever it may be, it takes a piece of you,” she continued. “It takes a piece of your heart that will never grow back or never be replaced, but it’s how do we make that piece of you that’s gone strong.”
Nikki also shared that she listened to the song “Be Not Afraid” in her “darkest moments of the past few months” when her lawyer would call or her divorce was in the news. “I would have to literally listen to that on repeat, and the lyrics of that song got me through so much because it just made me feel like God was talking directly to me,” she explained. “And just telling me, don’t be afraid. You’re gonna be okay. I’m always ahead of you. Just grab my hand, and I will bring you to rest.”
The retired wrestler added that her “soul just [needed] to rest” because she was going through “so much stress, anxiety, sadness, heartbreak [and] anger.” Nikki concluded the conversation by saying that the heartbreak she experienced was “exhausting.”

Artem and Nikki’s troubles were first revealed in August when he was arrested following a domestic violence incident, though the charges were later dropped. Nikki filed for divorce on September 11, and they settled their divorce via a private mediation on November 20.
After their divorce was finalized, Nikki admitted that she wasn’t fully truthful about their relationship during a December episode of her podcast. “I wanted [him] to heal. I wanted [him] to get help … because that’s what my son deserves,” she said about Artem, referencing their son, Matteo.
“It’s sad. [The relationship] hasn’t been great for a long time,” she added. “I really played it up like things were a lot better than they were in the public eye. I felt like, ‘If I can just put this person on a pedestal … maybe they can believe that in themselves.’”
