July 2016

Meghan and Harry were introduced in London during the summer of 2016 by a mutual friend, the California native revealed to Vanity Fair in September 2017.

Despite playing coy about their mate’s identity, it was later discovered to be none other than fashion designer Misha Nonoo. 

October 2016

First comes love, then comes headlines! Meghan noted that they were able to “quietly date” for about six months before the public caught wind of their budding romance.

November 2016

Harry released a public statement about the negative backlash his ladylove was receiving. “It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm,” Harry expressed through his communications secretary.

November 2017

Engaged! Harry revealed he popped the question to Meghan over a roast chicken dinner during a cozy night at his then-home, Nottingham Cottage, which is located on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

May 2018

They do! The brunette beauty looked stunning in a custom Givenchy wedding dress for their May 19 nuptials. Celebrities like Serena Williams and George Clooney were in attendance and their carriage ride through the streets was pretty much out of a fairytale.

October 2018

Ahead of kicking off their royal tour to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji, Prince Harry and Meghan dropped a major bomb … they were expecting their first child due in the spring! Royal baby watch had officially begun. 

November 2018

Kensington Palace announced that Meghan and Harry would be moving into Frogmore Cottage — a lovely home located on the property of Windsor Castle.

“Windsor is a very special place for their royal highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate,” the statement said about the pair leaving Kensington Palace.

February 2019

May 6, 2019

On May 6, Meghan and Harry welcomed their first child — a baby boy — into the world. On May 8, Meghan and Harry announced that they named their little one Archie.

On July 6, Meghan and Harry attended Archie’s christening in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle. The family celebrated with an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

January 2020

Meghan and Harry made a shocking announcement regarding their status as royals in a lengthy Instagram caption.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” the pair wrote in a joint statement. “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”

March 2020

On March 8, Meghan and Harry made their final appearance as royals for Commonwealth Day.

November 2020

Megan detailed suffering a miscarriage at the pair’s home in Montecito, California.

“Make breakfast. Feed the dogs. Take vitamins. Find that missing sock. Pick up the rogue crayon that rolled under the table. Throw my hair in a ponytail before getting my son from his crib,” the former Duchess recalled, adding that she felt “a sharp cramp” before she “dropped to the floor.”

Hours later, their loss was confirmed at the hospital. “I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears,” Megan wrote, referring to Harry. “Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal.”

February 14, 2021

A spokesperson for the pair confirmed Meghan was pregnant again. They announced the exciting news with a stunning black-and-white photo taken by their friend and longtime photographer, Misan Harriman. A smiling (and barefoot!) Harry looked lovingly at Meghan, who cradled her baby bump as she lay in his lap.

June 4, 2021

Meghan and Harry welcomed their second child, daughter Lilibet. Two days later, a spokesperson for the couple announced their daughter’s arrival and revealed “both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home” following the child’s delivery “in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.”

June 2022

Meghan and Prince Harry adoringly held hands while leaving the National Service of Thanksgiving at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral during a rare visit to England to celebrate his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

December 2022

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they will be sharing even more of their life in the forthcoming documentary, Harry & Meghan, which was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Liz Garbus.

“When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” Meghan said in the promo.

January 2023

In his Spare memoir, Harry alleged that he and brother Prince William were involved in a physical altercation over Meghan.
Harry claimed that William “grabbed [him] by the collar, ripping [his] necklace and … knocked [him] to the floor” during the alleged altercation, which took place in 2019. William also allegedly called Meghan “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive.” 

March 2023

The couple confirmed that they were invited to King Charles’ coronation. 

“I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation,” a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan told Us Weekly. “An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

April 2023

After months of speculation, the palace announced that Prince Harry will be attending the coronation of King Charles III, but Meghan will not be joining him. 

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May,” the institution announced in a statement on April 12, 2023. “The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

February 2025

While the royal family typically shies away from PDA, Meghan and Harry looked happier than ever while they locked lips in a photo the mom of two posted on Instagram in honor of Valentine’s Day in 2025.

“Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families. Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created,” Meghan wrote alongside the image. “My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you.”
