Someone’s about to level up! If you’re a fan of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, you definitely already know (and definitely love) one Miss Erika Jayne, the Cali housewife by day, vixen singer by night who has taken the show by storm. Now, she’s taking her star power to the next level — by starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. Needless to say, we’re freaking OUT!
“BROADWAY. ROXIE HART. JAN 6. @chicagomusical,” the 48-year-old bombshell captioned a super sexy ad for her limited run in the show, which read, “Erika Jayne razzle-dazzles as Roxie.” Luckily, fans and followers have a little time to plan their excursions to the Big Apple on the club singer’s behalf, as her stint in the show begins on January 6. She’ll be playing the iconic role through March 29.
“I’m beyond excited to join the cast of the legendary musical Chicago,” she told PEOPLE in a statement. “Having been a fan of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon’s work, it is an honor and a dream to play Roxie Hart.”
Naturally, her fellow housewives jumped at the chance to congratulate the sweet starlet, who is no stranger to commanding the stage. “So much yes!!!! Congratulations 🎊,” costar Teddi Mellencamp wrote, while Dorit Kemsley chimed in with, “Yes yes yes!!! So excited for this! 👏🏼.”n Fan-favorite Lisa Rinna took the theatrics of the situation to heart by showing her support via some pretty apt song lyrics from the second longest-running Broadway show. “THE NAME ON EVERYBODY’S LIPS IS GONNA BE….ROXIE 🤗🙌🏼♥️💃🏻💫🌪,” she wrote. Even former RHOBH cast member Eileen Davidson made sure to congratulate the blonde beauty. “I’m so excited for you! 💋💋💋,” she said.
If you know Erika (real name: Erika Girardi), you know she is also a big deal in the fashion world. So, of course, a few big style names made sure to share their thoughts on the role as well. “Gary and I will be there! Congrats Erika!” wrote renowned stylist Brad Goreski, while legendary designer Marc Jacobs added, “Dying to see you as Roxie!”
This definitely isn’t the RHOBH babe’s first time at the rodeo. She has a pretty accomplished resume, with stints on the soap opera, The Young and the Restless, and procedural Law and Order under her belt. She also competed on Dancing With the Stars back in 2017. Though she’s done a few parts, she’s never done one on Broadway — a huge step up for any actor.
As for fan reactions, well, a lot of folks couldn’t help but bring up Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps. “Remember when Luann said she was gonna be in Chicago 😂,” one fan wrote. Hey, listen, just because EJ beat Lu to the punch doesn’t mean the RHONY star doesn’t have a shot at the gig. We’ll just have to see!
