It’s been a whirlwind. Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter and her estranged husband, Matt, have had a lot of drama surrounding them since she first filed for divorce back in 2018. “When we moved away from Long Island, our relationship just wasn’t enough,” Gina previously explained to Andy Cohen about their split. “It’s the little, the big, it’s everything.” Since then, they’ve had a lot of ups and downs and it’s been hard for fans to keep up. They got married in 2010 and share three children —Nicholas, Sienna and Luca. Although they seemed chummy since going their separate ways, the starlet recently filed for a protective order on June 24, Life & Style confirmed. See their full relationship drama below!

It’s Over but Not Done

“We’ll never be split,” Gina, 35, explained on Watch What Happens Live back in September 2018 after confirming that she filed for divorce. “I ended the institution of marriage but we will always be family and there will never be a divide between Matt and I. I love him dearly and he’s the father of my children.”

It Wasn’t Working Out

At the time, it sounded like they still had a lot of love for each other. Why did they decide to split? “We got married very young and we realized we just … don’t have that connection,” Gina said.

Trouble of Her Own

Gina made headlines again in January 2019 when she was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. “I made a very bad choice the other night after a mom’s night out. I am extremely disappointed in myself and regret my actions wholeheartedly,” she wrote in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “I have learned a valuable lesson and hope to show you all that this one incident does not define me.”

Back Together?

Although the exes always seemed friendly, Gina sparked romance rumors after posting a heartfelt tribute to Matt for his birthday on June 11. “Happy birthday to the man who has held my hand for the last 14 years despite the ups and downs,” she wrote on a slew of photos, including a snap from their wedding day. “Thanks for being the best father to our kids, and the best friend a girl could ask for. Wouldn’t want to take on this crazy life with anyone else. Like you said, ‘I’m your person and you’re mine.'”

People Are Rooting for Them

A few days later, Us Weekly posted about the reality duo possibly reconciling on social media. Gina’s Housewives costar Vicki Gunvalson commented, “Woo hoo,” and Tamra Judge “liked” the post.

A Lot of Love

Gina gushed over Matt again on June 16 when she posted a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute. “Happy Father’s Day to two special men in my life, my dad and Matt. Thank you dad for teaching me everything I know and being there for me always! Thank you Matt for being the best dad to our children. Love you both very much,” she wrote.

Short Reunion

Us Weekly confirmed just a few days later, on June 25, that they were officially split … again. However, things took a darker and unexpected turn.

Legal Woes

Matt was arrested on suspicions relating to domestic violence, Life & Style confirmed on June 24. He has not been formally charged with a crime. According to the court docket, the reality beauty requested a domestic violence restraining order, and an emergency hearing was held on Monday. It is not clear whether or not the restraining order was granted.
