There’s nothing like some Riverdale drama. Season 3 left us on the edge of our seats, but thanks to Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper, we got the inside scoop on what’s going to happen on season 4 — specifically between and her daughter Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).

In case you need a refresher, by the end of the last season, Betty found out her mom was working as an FBI informant to take down the farm. This seemed like a relief to the teen, who believed her mother was losing her mind when in reality she was making up lies. “They need work through some issues, need to unpack some stuff,” Mädchen exclusively told Life & Style at New York Comic Con. “In episode 8, there’s a great counseling session that happens with all the kids in high school and then some of those, the parents brought in. So there’s a good Betty/Alice confronting a lot of stuff that’s been going on between the two of them. We need that counselor to do 24/7 for the next 6 months.”

To fans’ dismay, though, Alice, is still missing. “She’s still lost at the farm in the first few episodes. So Betty and Charles, the real son, are trying to find her,” she revealed. It sounds like it’s going to be an entertaining season!

While the teens from Riverdale will experience lots of drama and mystery in the season ahead, unfortunately, they will also face loss. Based on a new trailer, Fred Andrews, who was played by Luke Perry, seemingly passes away in the show. In the trailer, Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), gets a call from his dad, Fred, but it’s bad news. In the next shot, he drops his phone and collapses to the floor. Then, a photo of Fred Andrews is put on display at a burial as Archie narrates. “It hurts me that I never got to say goodbye,” the redhead says. “Fred Andrews will always be a part of Riverdale.”

Luke passed away on March 4 after experiencing a massive stroke on February 27. To pay tribute to him, producer/writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa dedicated the March 6 episode to the late actor. “Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best — helping Archie,” he tweeted at the time. “It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.”
