He’s such a good man. On Dec. 20, Jenna Dewan‘s new boyfriend, Steve Kazee, took to Instagram to share an incredibly touching message following the death of the actress’ dog Lulu. Despite the fact that the pair has only been dating for a few months, it’s clear that there’s a great deal of love and adoration between them.

“The past few days haven’t been easy, but losing a fur friend never is. There have been tears of sorrow, tears of joy, laughter, longing, and every emotion in-between. Today, though… today was a good day,” the handsome 43-year-old wrote.

Naturally, fans got very emotional over Steve’s heartwarming note and shared their condolences in the comments. “Ah, man. We very unexpectedly lost our dog last month. The range of emotions and the pain was more profound than I ever thought possible. All the world in the world to you guys,” one user commented.

“Losing a fur friend is so hard. I’m sorry, Jenna. She will be ‘furever’ in your heart, though,” added another. *Pauses to wipe stream of tears.* Sadly, Jenna and Steve aren’t the only ones dealing with the loss of Lulu. The mother-of-one’s ex-husband, Channing Tatum, is also hurting. He and Jenna shared the beautiful pup while they were married.

“I’ll be seeing you again, baby girl, but you’ll always be with me. Always,” Channing captioned a stunning snapshot of himself and Lulu running on the beach. Jenna, too, shared a compilation of photos on her Instagram, writing: “To our sweet and fierce, Lulu. Thank you for being the best dog in the entire world and for fighting cancer for as long as you did. Thank you for your tireless love, protection, and humor. Thank you for the adventures. Heartbroken doesn’t even come close to how it feels, but you will live on forever in our hearts and our memories… fly, sweet angel.”

Our hearts go out to Channing, Jenna, and their daughter, Everly, during this very difficult time. Rest easy, Lulu.
