Sydney Sweeney Ditches Ring at Met Gala 2025 Amid Jonathan Davino Split Rumors: Red Carpet Photos
Sydney Sweeney ditched her engagement ring while rocking an ultra-sleek Miu Miu beaded black dress on the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala amid rumors of her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino.
The Anyone But You actress, 27, arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May, 5, wearing wearing the gorgeous gown, which showed off her chest with a keyhole cut-out in the front. Meanwhile, she styled her hair in a simple bun and wore a dramatic winged eye makeup look. Sydney accessorized the ensemble with a gold brooch.
Sydney’s ensemble was made to follow this year’s dress code, “Tailored for You,” which ties in with the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The exhibition was influenced by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, and “explore the role of sartorial style in forming Black identities, focusing on the emergence, significance, and proliferation of the Black dandy,” according to Vogue.
Sydney attended the highly anticipated annual event just over one month after reports surfaced that she and Jonathan, 41, called it quits after seven years together and three years engaged.
“Sydney and Jonathan are officially split,” a source told Us Weekly on March 31, adding that the Euphoria actress is “telling friends she is single.”
Another insider told People at the time that Sydney was “overwhelmed” by their “relationship and her wedding,” adding that “she didn’t feel right about it.”
Split rumors had already begun to swirl earlier in March when fans noticed that Sydney had deleted a New Year’s photo of herself and Jonathan kissing from her Instagram. Later, she was spotted attending her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell’s sister Leslie Powell’s wedding in Texas, which fueled previous rumors of a relationship between the onscreen lovers.

However, Glen’s mom, Cyndy Powell, shut down the dating rumors, revealing that Sydney is a close friend of the family.
“They’re definitely not together,” she said of the Housemaid star and Glen, 36. “We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We were all together so much and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”
A source exclusively told Life & Style on April 2 that Glen and Sydney are simply keeping their relationship status on the down-low.
“Sydney isn’t prepared to explain her relationship status to anyone,” the insider said. “She did call off the wedding to Jonathan, but she’s not even talking about that. When it comes to her and Glen, that’s a different matter.”
The source continued, “Sydney is even being coy with her family. Only a couple of her closest friends know the truth, but meeting Glen’s family and attending his sister’s wedding tells me they’re together. It only makes sense because they really do have a connection. And of course they make a beautiful couple. Now, everyone is just waiting for the moment she and Glen go public.”
Meanwhile, Sydney and Jonathan have also been seen hanging out together in Los Angeles since they reportedly called off their wedding. A source told Us Weekly on April 23 that the pair was struggling to cut ties with each other following their split.
“They had been together for so many years and their lives are very intertwined,” the insider said. “It’s hard for them to just pull the plug and stop all communication.”
However, the source reiterated that Sydney and Jonathan’s “wedding was still off.”
“Sydney and Jonathan have maintained a good relationship during this time and aren’t back together,” the insider continued. “[She] is still maintaining that she is single and very focused on work.”
