Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino Seen Together for 1st Time After Calling Off Wedding
Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino were seen together for the first time after calling off their wedding.
The Euphoria star, 27, and the film producer, 41, looked solemn as they walked together outside the Beverly Glen Deli in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 7, in photographs obtained by People.
Sydney tried to hide her famous face with oversized dark sunglasses and the hood over her blue sweatshirt pulled over her head. She kept her outfit casual with baggy jeans and white sneakers.
Jonathan also donned sunglasses along with a black T-shirt and casual jacket. He held onto the leash of Sydney’s dog, Tank, who joined the duo for their lunch.
The pair were photographed at an outdoor table, as a source told the outlet that Sydney and Jonathan spent “about an hour” together at the eatery “and then left together.”
The public reunion comes on the heels of multiple outlets reporting that the duo called off their wedding and broke up after nearly seven years as a couple.
“Sydney and Jonathan are officially split,” a source told Us Weekly on March 31.
People reported that same day that the White Lotus alum was “overwhelmed” by their “relationship and her wedding,” adding that “she didn’t feel right about it.”
“She’s exactly where she wants to be,” the insider shared. “Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”
The source added that Sydney is “in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago,” and she “wants to focus” on her career “right now.”
The split reports came the same day that photos of Sydney attending her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell‘s sister’s wedding in Dallas, Texas, surfaced from the previous weekend.
Leslie Powell shared a photo posing with Sydney at the reception, where the Madam Web star looked stunning in a plunging pale blue dress. Glen, 36, was seen in a photo of the wedding party, looking dapper in a navy blue suit.
Several fans told DeuxMoi that they spotted Sydney and Glen out at several hotspots around Dallas. However, TMZ reported on March 31 that the actress is “very good friends with the Powell family” and has been “very close” with Leslie “for a long time.” The outlet also reported that Glen and Sydney did not attend the wedding’s rehearsal dinner as each other’s dates.
“They’re definitely not together,” Glen’s mom Cyndy Powell told The Daily Mail on April 1, about romance speculation between her son and Sydney. “[There is] nothing going on behind closed doors.”
The Top Gun: Maverick star confirmed Sydney was at his sister’s wedding during an appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends on April 2.
When Jenna Bush Hager, 43, noted, “The wedding caused a little bit of a stir. Did that surprise you?” Glen gave the curious response, “You know, timing is everything in this world.” The Hit Man star added that his sister “and Syd are obviously great friends, and it was a hell of a wedding.”
Glen previously addressed how his flirty nature with Sydney helped promote Anyone But You.
“The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry,” he told The New York Times in April 2024. “Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry. That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.”
On the heels of her split, a source exclusively told Life & Style that Sydney and Glen are now “together” on April 2.
“Sydney isn’t prepared to explain her relationship status to anyone,” the insider said. “She did call off the wedding to Jonathan, but she’s not even talking about that. When it comes to her and Glen, that’s a different matter.”
The source pointed out how the duo “definitely had major chemistry” while filming their 2023 Netflix hit, Anyone But You, and the pair “remained friends afterward.”
“Sydney is even being coy with her family,” the insider explained. “Only a couple of her closest friends know the truth, but meeting Glen’s family and attending his sister’s wedding tells me they’re together. It only makes sense because they really do have a connection. And of course they make a beautiful couple. Now, everyone is just waiting for the moment she and Glen go public.”
The Immaculate star hasn’t addressed either her reported split from Jonathan or a possible romance with Glen. However, she was seen without her engagement ring while attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 1. The duo got engaged in 2022 after they began dating in 2018.
