They’re Endgame! Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Are Officially Engaged After 2 Years of Dating
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged after more than a year together, and the world is swooning over this dream couple.
Swift broke the news with a sweet Instagram carousel shared in collaboration with Kelce, featuring photos of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on one knee in a gorgeous garden. The caption read simply: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” Taylor added a touch of nostalgia on her IG Story, pairing the moment with the song “So High School.” Fans got a close-up of the stunning engagement ring, making the announcement all the more magical.
The couple has been impossible to ignore since their public PDA-filled moments at Arrowhead Stadium, including an epic kiss after the Chiefs clinched their third straight AFC championship on January 26, 2025. Their love has been in the spotlight, but insiders say an engagement was always expected once the football season wrapped.
“Everyone in Travis and Taylor’s world assumes an engagement is coming,” a source told Life & Style on February 6, three days before the AFC championship game. “In fact, a lot of people find it pretty extraordinary that it hasn’t happened already.”
“He is so open about Taylor being the one,” the insider added. “He wants to spend the rest of his life with her and vice versa.” Friends of the NFL star say he was simply waiting for the perfect moment to pop the question.
Travis even played coy when asked about proposal plans at the Super Bowl’s opening night event in New Orleans on February 3. “Wouldn’t you like to know,” he said slyly with a grin.
The engagement, it turns out, had been quietly in the works for months. A source revealed that Travis asked Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, for his blessing during a meeting at her Eras tour concert in Argentina in November 2023. “Scott gets along great with Travis and supports this relationship wholeheartedly — he loves seeing Taylor this happy,” the insider said.
Fans can expect a star-studded wedding, as the source hinted: “Just imagine the A-list guest list and her whole squad in the bridal party!” Meanwhile, Taylor has been “letting herself dream about a wedding,” adding to the excitement.
The love story began in earnest on July 7, 2023, when Travis attended Taylor’s Eras tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium. He revealed on his New Heights podcast that he wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number but never did — yet Taylor was smitten and reached out. By September, their relationship went public, though Taylor stressed in Time: “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to know each other.”
Since then, the duo has been inseparable. Taylor has become a fixture at Chiefs games, including the 2024 Super Bowl victory, and Travis has shown up at her Eras tour shows across the globe. She even brought him on stage during a London concert for a skit on *I Can Do It With a Broken Heart*, a move that fans saw as a clear seal of approval.
“We’re showing up for each other. Other people are there and we don’t care. … And [Travis and I are] just proud of each other,” Taylor told Time.
Travis gushes over Taylor too. On June 25, 2024, he told Bussin’ With The Boys: “She’s very self-aware. And I think that’s why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends [and] family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention … and she just keeps it so chill and so cool.”
