Taylor Swift Fans Surprise Her by Singing ‘Happy Birthday’ During Her Final Eras Tour Show
Taylor Swift got emotional as her fans sang “Happy Birthday” to her during her final Eras show, which took place just five days before she turns 35.
Each night during the Eras tour, fans in stadiums around the world would give Taylor, 34, a lengthy standing ovation following her performance of “Champagne Problems.” The crowd was no different during her Sunday, December 8, show at BC Place in Vancouver, though the fans made the moment even more special by singing “Happy Birthday” to her ahead of her birthday on Friday, December 13.
The sweet moment was shared in a video posted via X, which showed the “Cruel Summer” singer beaming and laughing and she took in the crowd’s sweet fan project.
Shortly after the video was uploaded, several fans rushed to the comments section to gush about the gesture. “A beautiful moment at the Eras Tour,” one person wrote via X. Another chimed in, “SHE LOOKS SO HAPPY.”
Meanwhile, diehard fan Flavor Flav also shared a video of the fan-led tribute from the show. “Happy Birthday to @taylorswift13 ,,, we all love ya,” he wrote in an X post.
Taylor’s third night in Vancouver marked her final Eras tour show after she launched the tour in March 2023. The “Enchanted” singer was specifically sentimental throughout the night, and reflected on the groundbreaking tour coming to an end several times throughout the night.
Following her standing ovation after “Champagne Problems” during the Folklore/Evermore set, Taylor told the crowd how much the experience has meant to her. “This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime,” she gushed. “I speak on behalf of my band … my fellow performers who all left their families and have spent time away from everything that they know and love and have performed when they were sick. When anything was going on in their lives, they made sure that this show come through [for] you and I just wanted to say that on behalf of all of us, we will never forget you giving us that moment. Thank you, Vancouver.”
During the surprise song portion of the concert, Taylor performed a mashup of “A Place in This World” and “New Romantics” on guitar. She then moved to her piano and sang a mashup of her songs “Long Live,” “New Year’s Day” and “The Manuscript.”
Taylor noticeably changed the lyrics of “Long Live” from “it was the end of a decade” to “it was the end of an era,” referencing the end of the tour.

Earlier in the night, the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer reflected on the experience during the Lover set of the concert. “We have had so many adventures. It has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve done in my entire life. We’ve gotten to perform for over 10 million people on this tour,” she told the crowd. “And tonight, we get to play one last show for you here tonight in beautiful Vancouver. We’re gonna make it count.”
