With the new season of The Voice premiering tonight, Monday, February 25, we thought it best to highlight one contestant that we are beyond pumped to root for — Kim Cherry!

During a sneak peek of her blind audition, the badass singer wowed not one, not two, but all four coaches with her rendition of TLC’s classic jam “No Scrubs.” We respect the song choice, Miss Cherry!

While we still don’t know who she’ll choose to be her coach — Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton or series newbie John Legend — we have no doubt that Kim is already a strong contender to take the whole competition.

As it turns out, the internet agrees! “The rapping vocals are lit! I hope she goes with Kelly,” one person commented on YouTube. “That was honestly so good and different,” added another. We stan a versatile queen, y’all, and this show could definitely stand to shake things up a bit, don’t you think?

Our favorite commentary, however, definitely came from the coaches. For starters, John, 40, turning around and exclaiming “Oh, she’s white,” is basically the best thing ever. Also, Kelly’s facial expressions? Come on, they’re amazing.

Speaking of those two judges, we suspect that Kim will end up joining one of their teams. Despite the fact that John is a rookie, he’s the only EGOT on the panel. Needless to say, homeboy can legit do it all. As for Kelly, well, she’s the reigning champ. If there’s one coach who can help Kim land that big W-I-N, it’s her.

The songstress’ last victory was 16-year-old Chevel Shepherd in season 15. Chevel was awarded a $100,000 prize and a record deal with Universal Music Group. Here’s hoping that Kim meets the same fate! We are so excited to see how the journey goes.
