Grant chose to give his final rose to Juliana during the season 29 finale on March 24, 2025, which meant he had to end things with Litia.

During the final rose ceremony, Litia spoke to Grant about how her feelings for him evolved during the show. “Grant, I started falling for you on week two, but I didn’t tell you because I don’t like to express it,” she began/ “On our one-on-one in Scotland, I knew that I loved you. Hearing you talk about your childhood and how hard it was growing up and how you felt alone sometimes. It made me want to give you a family so you never have to feel that way.”

After noting that she can see him as her “husband,” she continued, “I love you so much and I feel so lucky to be loved by you. You just have shown me how I want to be loved forever.”

Once it became Grant’s turn to talk, he told Litia that he developed an “emotional connection” with her. “You are one of the most amazing and beautiful women that I’ve ever met. And you deserve to be loved,” he said. “You deserve to be treated right. This is hard for me. Litia, I love you very much and I want to give you everything that you deserve, but I’m not your person. And I’m sorry to have got to this point. My emotional connection is stronger somewhere else.”

Litia then asked Grant when his mind changed, and he said it didn’t. “I do love you and I don’t want you to feel like I haven’t been open, I haven’t been honest, because I have been,” he continued. “I hope you don’t view me any differently.”

She didn’t take the news well, and admitted she was surprised and upset with his decision. Litia also warned Grant that he needed to have a serious conversation with Juliana because she felt he had not been clear with them about his feelings.

Litia reiterated how confused she was during the After the Final Rose special, explaining that he told her they would get engaged the night before he broke up with her. She continued to claim that he told her several times off camera that they would end up engaged at the end of the season.

Grant and Litia reunited for the first time after their split during the After the Final Rose special, where she confronted him about giving her false hope throughout the season.

“I have to accept responsibility for my actions,” he said, insisting that he did love her during their time on the show.

Grant then apologized for hurting her and her loved ones. “I’m truly sorry and I had to make a decision that was best for me. And it came down to the wire for me,” he said. “I’m sorry that I hurt you. Truly. And I hope you feel the sincerity when I speak to you.”

The conversation concluded with Litia explaining she wasn’t aware of Grant’s concerns with her ideal timeline to start a family, which he spoke to his family about before their split.

The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis and Litia Garr Had Different Religions

While the connection between Grant and Litia was undeniable, one cause for concern was their different religions. Grant said he believed in a higher power but wasn’t actively religious, and Litia explained that her Mormon upbringing played a major part in the woman she is today.

Litia first opened up about her religion when she and Grant went on a one-on-one date during the February 24, 2025, episode. “I’m nervous what you will think of it. It’s very, very conservative,” she told Grant as they discussed going on her hometown date. “My family is very religious.”

After she revealed that she was raised Mormon, Litia said she wants to raise her future kids in a similar way as her own childhood.

“I’m not Mormon. I have tattoos. I have earrings. I do drink sometimes. Will they accept me?” Grant wondered when thinking about meeting her family.

Despite his concerns that he wouldn’t be accepted, Grant quickly hit it off with Litia’s family during her hometown date on March 3, 2025.

During an emotional conversation with her grandfather, he told Litia that he had never seen her so happy with any of her exes. “Hearing my grandpa say that he’s never seen me like this with anyone, I was like … If he can see it, you know, then it’s different,” she said in a confessional.

The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis and Litia Garr Weren’t on the Same Page About Kids

Early on during the season finale, Grant spoke to his father, Robert, about his concerns that Letita wanted to have children faster than he did.

“She wants to have children right away,” Grant said, adding that he wanted to travel and enjoy life with his partner for the next three or four years before having children.

Robert then assured Grant that he and Letita would come to a compromise if it was meant to be. “When you love someone, you’ll be able to do all those things as long as you’re both happy,” he said.

The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis and Litia Garr Dropped the L-Bomb

The hometown date ended with a major milestone for the couple, as she admitted for the first time that she loved him. Meanwhile, Grant told Litia that he loved her during their Fantasy Suite date on March 17, 2025.

Additionally, he told the cameras that he could “see” Litia as his wife. Grant then admitted that he maybe should have “waited a little longer” to tell her that he loved her.

However, Grant stood by his decision to tell both Litia and Juliana about his feelings for them while speaking to Glamour in a March 11, 2025, interview.

“I was in a situation where I was in love with two women. I never knew if it was possible to feel that way about two people,” he told the outlet. “I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I don’t wish I would’ve held back because then I wouldn’t have been fully in it. You can’t live with regret. And whatever people say, I get it, but this is an unusual circumstance and I put myself out there. If I had to do it again, I would do the same thing.”
