She was missed! Cardi B has been the queen of red carpet appearances lately so fans were disappointed that she didn’t attend the iHeartRadio Music Awards. The artist did make a small cameo during the March 14 event just to say sorry she couldn’t be there.

She won Hip Hop Artist of the Year and sent a video to say thanks. She mentioned that she was “busy doing a couple things” but was extremely grateful to her fans and those who support her. For people who don’t, she noted, “You think those mean things are going to discourage me but it just makes me go harder.” Tell ’em, Cardi!

After her showstopping appearance during the Grammys on February 10, it was a bummer not to see her work another carpet. Her outfit made people literally say, “Mother of pearl!” French fashion designer Thierry Mugler loaned her a vintage couture oyster dress and it was extremely unique. Cardi looked the part and worked every inch of the carpet with her over-the-top poses.

“I want to do this video to thank Thierry Mugler because for him to lend me his archived pieces — they haven’t been worn since 1995 — was a dream for me,” she gushed in an Instagram video after the awards. “I want to say thank you for choosing me, choosing Cardi, for me to wear your pieces that you don’t lend to nobody. A lot of people at home didn’t understand how much it means to me because a lot of y’all motherfu**kers, y’all too simple. Y’all simple, y’all be thinking that Gucci, Prada and Versace is the only high-end name brands. Y’all don’t understand.”

She continued to explain that taking her clothing choices to the next level was huge and she loved every minuted of it. “But for me, this is a big fashion moment for me. I don’t feel like nothing could ever top this off. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my crusty heart,” the singer said.

Don’t underestimate, Cardi!
