Will There Be a ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4? Jason Sudeikis Gives Major Update on the Show’s Future
Football is life! Jason Sudeikis confirmed his beloved Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso is returning for a fourth season. Life & Style takes a look at what the star and cocreator revealed about the Emmy-winning show’s future and how it will move forward.
Will There Be a ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4?
“We’re writing season 4 now,” Jason told brothers Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce during the March 14, 2025, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “That’s the official word.”
The same day, Apple TV+ announced Ted Lasso was officially returning for a fourth season.
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’ in season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be,” Jason in a very coach-like way in the press release.

“Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, gushed in the announcement.
What Will ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Be About?
“Ted’s coaching a women’s team. So, there’s that …” Jason revealed during the podcast.
That seems to tie in with how season 3 ended, as Juno Temple‘s Keeley Jones pitched Hannah Waddingham‘s Rebecca Welton about starting an AFC Richmond women’s team. However, the finale saw Jason’s Ted leave England for America, where he was reunited with his son, Henry.
Travis asked whether Ted was “coming back to the states,” for season 4, to which Jason replied, “That’s too many questions.”
The Kansas City Chiefs star noted, “We’ll leave it at that,” while Jason gave the cryptical response, “And it’s only because I don’t have — I don’t know,” seeming to indicate the direction of season 4 is still being explored.
Jason Sudeikis Said It’s ‘Exciting’ Working on ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4
After the show’s storied first three seasons featuring Jason’s American college football coach Ted Lasso coaching England’s AFC Richmond soccer team, the former Saturday Night Live star hinted there’s new horizons ahead for the character.
“We told the story we wanted to tell, but there’s more there and it is a neat group of people to work with,” Jason said of the upcoming season 4. He said working on the new season has been an “exciting” and “daunting” experience as a result.
“It’s a wonderful group of people, and characters to write around,” the We’re the Millers star added.

Who Are the Creative Minds Behind ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4?
Veteran TV producer Jack Burditt is joining the show as an executive producer. He’s behind such comedy classics as 30 Rock and Modern Family and was most recently an executive producer on the Netflix hit Nobody Wants This.
Jason is returning as executive producer of Ted Lasso along with his team of Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel.
Brett Goldstein, who stars as Roy Kent on Ted Lasso, is back as both a writer and executive producer. Phoebe Walsh, who penned 23 episodes of the show during its three previous seasons is also back in the writer’s room. They’re joined on season 4 by Sarah Walker, who’s written episodes of Silicon Valley, Sirens and The Big Door Prize, as well as comedy writer Julia Lindon who has penned episodes of Survival of the Thickest and Peacock’s In the Know.
The cast of Ted Lasso season 4 has yet to be announced.
