Woman Falls Overboard on Taylor Swift-Themed Cruise: Updates on the Missing Passenger Amid Search
A woman on Royal Caribbean’s Taylor Swift-themed cruise fell overboard on October 22, 2024, prompting search and rescue efforts from the Coast Guard and Royal Bahamas Defense Force. The missing passenger has not yet been found as of publication.
What Happened on the Taylor Swift-Themed Cruise?
A 66-year-old woman fell from the Allure of the Seas cruise ship in the Bahamas, 17 miles north of Nassau, at about 9:40 p.m. on October 22, 2024, a rep for the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed to People. A passenger aboard the ship told the outlet that rumors of an “incident” onboard circulated that night when guests saw a lifeboat circulating the ship, which was at a standstill.
Rescue crews from the Coast Guard and Royal Bahamas Defense Force were still looking for the woman on the morning of October 23, 2024, with help from an HC-144 airplane crew and a MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter from Air Station Miami.
A rep for Royal Caribbean told People that they were also working with local authorities to locate the missing passenger.
“We are also providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time,” the statement read. “To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”
TMZ later reported that the search was called off on the afternoon of October 23, 2024, after a rep for the Royal Bahamas Defense Force confirmed to the outlet that the woman had jumped from the 14th floor of the cruise ship.
It’s not clear whether the woman was part of the Taylor Swift fan group aboard the Allure of the Seas.
What Is the Taylor Swift-Themed Cruise?
Allure of the Seas’ “In My Cruise Era” is not affiliated with Taylor or her company, TASRM Publishing. Travel agents Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera and Shelby Reyes of Marvelous Mouse Travels collaborated with Royal Caribbean to organize the trip, during which Swifties can “celebrate all things Taylor, make new friends, dress up in our favorite eras, trade friendship bracelets and enjoy everything this amazing ship has to offer,” according to the website.
“This cruise is for all fans, so bring your besties, your moms and dads, your baby fans, and if you need someone to room with, post on our page and ask!” the description continues.

Elsewhere, the site notes, “If you booked a room onboard the Allure of the Seas on October 21, 2024 and you did NOT book directly with Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera, or Shelby Reyes, you are not a part of our group and will not have access to private, Taylor-themed events onboard. This includes rooms booked directly with Royal Caribbean. This is not a full ship charter, but simply a group of fans getting together to make new friends at private events onboard.”
The cruise set sail from Miami on October 22, 2024. Another group cruise hosted by the three travel agents, called “Galentine’s at Sea” aboard the Utopia of the Seas, is scheduled for February 7, 2025, with booking open now.
“This cruise is for everyone, so bring your besties, your lovers, your little lovebugs, and if you need someone to room with, post on our page and ask!” the description reads.
