It's been ages since Britney Spears could let loose and have a little fun. Since suffering a public breakdown in January, the troubled pop star has been under the extremely close watch of her father, Jamie -- and has rarely been permitted to socialize with anyone outside her tight circle of family members, handlers and bodyguards.
Brit's father, according to a Spears family insider, is still worried that his daughter is not ready to cope on her own.
"He's not trying to embarrass her," the insider says, "but he doesn't think she can handle being out and about by herself yet. He doesn't want to see his daughter get hurt -- and he really doesn't want anything to stand in the way of her comeback."
