Looks like Amy Schumer‘s first pregnancy is a bit of a trainwreck! The funny gal was scheduled to perform a set of stand-up shows in Texas, but after experiencing some seriously scary side effects of expecting, the comedienne had to cancel her shows and head to the hospital. She took to Instagram to announce the news and offer fans an explanation — as well as an update on her health and her baby, of course. It turns out, though, that she’s actually suffering from hyperemesis, the same condition that gave Kate Middleton so much trouble during all three of her pregnancies.

“Texas I am so deeply sorry,” the 37-year-old wrote on the social media app, sharing a photo of herself in a hospital bed. “I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule. I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester. I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bulls–t!”

And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.

“Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati!” the star continued. “They are cool as hell! And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.” We hope that she recovers soon, too. Not so that she can get back to her act (although we’re sure her fans would appreciate it!), but so that she can stop feeling so crappy all the time. Being sick is the worst, and compounded with everything else you have to deal with during pregnancy, it sounds like a straight-up nightmare.

And in case you’re wondering who Tati is, no, it’s not the name of her future baby. Tati is actually short for Tatiana, her sweet little dog. If you didn’t notice her in the picture, she’s that ball of black fluff by Amy’s feet. As for potential baby names, though, Amy isn’t sharing too much just yet. She’s posted a video of one of her ultrasounds, and sources exclusively told Life & Style that she’s hoping to have a girl, but no confirmation just yet. “It’s a 50/50 shot,” she joked about the gender in her stand up show. “It’s better odds than in Vegas. I don’t know what it’s going to be. I think it’s going to be a baby.” All we know is that’s one baby we can’t wait to meet.
