Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty Had Some Issues to Resolve on ‘BIP’ — But Do They Get Engaged?

Even though Demi Burnett and her girlfriend, Kristian Haggerty, worked through some of their issues during the Monday, September 9, episode of Bachelor in Paradise, it seems like these two are back on track. So, did the lovebirds decide to take the next step and get engaged after the show? Caution: Spoilers for season 6 of Paradise are below. If you’re invested in the 24-year-old’s connection with Kristian, then viewers will be happy to know that these two ladies got their happy ending! According to Reality Steve, Demi is one of the last ones to propose to Kristian during the season 6 finale, but of course, she said yes. During the reunion episode, the blogger reported that Kristian pops the question to Demi in return. How sweet!

Previously, Demi got candid about her relationship during her confessional. “Kristian is just flirty with girls, and it sucks,” she said. “I hate seeing it. I feel like she is more interested in them than me. It is just getting to me. I can’t. I don’t want to see that. I don’t know if maybe she is lacking physical touch from me, so she is going to get it from somewhere else, but I don’t think that is fair. In private that is fine, in public, I don’t like that.”

Fortunately, during their date, the pair — who is the first same-sex couple show in the Bachelor franchise — were able to talk everything out. “This whole thing has been really hard,” Demi said to Kristian. “I know that you are a touchy person, and I am not. It just is like a struggle for me to watch you, like, be touchy with other people, and I don’t like it. I feel like if I say I don’t like it, then you’re going to be upset at me.”

But Kristian wanted to explain where her head was at. “I am just a very touchy person,” she explained. “I know it’s hard to read you sometimes. I don’t know when is a good time to approach you or not. In my head, that is the way of showing that I care about someone that is my friend. I promise you there is nothing romantic. I don’t know how else to say it.”

In the end, the reality stars couldn’t help but gush about one another. “I just don’t want to lose you,” Demi said. Kristian echoed her statement, saying, “You’re everything to me. Don’t stress yourself out. You make me so happy. I am going to make an effort to make you feel most comfortable in all scenarios. You are my priority.”
