Demi Burnett Has Some Reservations About Her Relationship With GF Kristian Haggerty on ‘BIP’
Is Demi Burnett having second thoughts about her relationship with Kristian Haggerty? The blonde beauty got candid about her fears during the Monday, September 9, episode of Bachelor in Paradise.
The duo was by the pool with Katie Morton when Kristian, 27, pointed out that Demi doesn’t like to show any PDA. “I am very affectionate,” Kristian said. “I am more physical. She doesn’t like too much lovey-dovey affection, physical, but I know she still cares about me and loves me.”
In her confessional, the Texas native explained why she didn’t like her girlfriend touching others. “Kristian is just flirty with girls, and it sucks,” she said. “I hate seeing it. I feel like she is more interested in them than me. It is just getting to me. I can’t. I don’t want to see that. I don’t know if maybe she is lacking physical touch from me, so she is going to get it from somewhere else, but I don’t think that is fair. In private that is fine, in public, I don’t like that.”
Demi continued to spiral. “I feel like I am not giving her enough, but I am also struggling with my inner battle of being worried about how I am making other people feel which shouldn’t matter, but it does,” she confessed. “It’s causing resentment. She probably doesn’t even know it’s happening. I just like don’t PDA, and I know she likes physical affection. It’s just like all the fears of the judgment and people thinking that it’s weird and stuff — that is like clouding all of my judgment and all of my action and making me uncomfortable.”
Fortunately, the pair went on a date where they were able to hash out their issues. “This whole thing has been really hard,” Demi said to her lady. “I know that you are a touchy person, and I am not. It just is like a struggle for me to watch you like be touchy with other people, and I don’t like it. I feel like if I say I don’t like it, then you’re going to be upset at me not liking me.”
However, Kristian defended her actions. “I am just a very touchy person,” she said. “I know it’s hard to read you sometimes. I don’t know when is a good time to approach you or not. In my head, that is my way of showing that I care about someone that is my friend. I promise you there is nothing romantic. I don’t know how else to say it.”
Demi revealed that being in front of the cameras has been tough on her and their relationship, but Kristian seemed to understand what she was going through. Ultimately, the lovebirds couldn’t help but gush about one another.
“I just don’t want to lose you,” Demi said. Kristian echoed her statement, saying, “You’re everything to me. Don’t stress yourself out. You make me so happy. I am going to make an effort to make you feel most comfortable in all scenarios. You are my priority.”
Hopefully, these two are in it for the long haul!
