Joan and Chock confirmed they were still together during the live portion of The Golden Bachelorette finale on November 13, 2024. After Chock’s proposal aired, the happy couple showed up on After the Final Rose to flaunt their love in public for the very first time.
“It’s just been an incredible, incredible ride, and I couldn’t be happier. And I want the world to know that,” Chock gushed.
Where Do Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple Live?
Although they didn’t spill any tea on their potential wedding plans, Joan and Chock confirmed to Us Weekly that they plan to move to New York City together eventually. It would be a neutral location for the pair, since Chock is from Kansas and Joan resides in Maryland.
“The first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life,” Joan explained. “Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids in Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas. We know that we’re going to spend time in Maryland and Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed – and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true – that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”
Even before Joan filmed The Golden Bachelorette, she made it clear that staying close to her family in Maryland was a non-negotiable. In October 2024, she told Us Weekly that she thought it would “be really fun” to split time between multiple locations with her partner.
“When I have something great going on, my person could come be with me, and vice versa,” she explained. “We’ll spend two or three weeks with each other every month. I know this sounds aspirational, but you can make it work. The logistics shouldn’t be what stops you from being together.”
When Did Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple Get Engaged?
Although the public found out about Joan and Chock’s engagement in November 2024, the proposal actually took place months prior. The Golden Bachelorette finale was filmed in July 2024 in Tahiti, so the lovebirds had been keeping their news a secret for almost four months by the time the finale aired.
During their time away from the cameras, Chock and Joan got to spend five “happy couples” weekends together. “Those run about four days each,” Chock explained on After the Final Rose. “So the office that I had thought I was working for the CIA or something – because you can’t say a word! I’m like, ‘I’ll be out, be back whenever.’ It was fantastic. The great thing about it is you get to know the person better. We stayed in the house, we couldn’t go out. We cooked, we played crosswords, we did everything. It’s such a great opportunity to get to know the other person.”
