The saga continues! Despite the not-so-flattering lyrics about Ariana Grande’s ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez in the singer’s hit song “thank u, next,” it looks like things between the former flames continue to heat up. So much for “I just look back and laugh,” huh, Ari?
“While she’s not calling it a romance, some of her friends surely think she’s kick-started something that’s deeper than friendship,” a source revealed to Life & Style. “She won’t even say that they’re friends with benefits, but it doesn’t matter, he’s been hanging out with her and she’s happy.”
“Ariana’s the first one to say that she needs to kick her bad-boy habit, but she likes what she likes,” the source continued. “Ricky’s one of the good guys and he and Ariana make a great couple. If they’re not hooking up now, it’s only a matter of time before they do.” Sigh. We really don’t know how to feel about this, y’all.
The two sparked romance rumors after spending a day together at the beginning of January in NYC, though Ari has been pretty adamant that there’s nothing going on between them. “We’re friends, everyone. Take a big ol’ breather,” the 25-year-old told a fan on Instagram. That said, the evidence to the contrary is getting more and more damning. Ricky, 26, even designed the artwork for Ari’s latest single, “Imagine.” Hmmm, we don’t know about you guys, but two good looking people working on a creative project together definitely sounds like the perfect recipe for a love connection.
But how does Ariana’s ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson, feel about all of this? Well, surprisingly enough, the SNL comedian, 25, seems A-OK. In fact, Pete was recently spotted flirting with Kate Beckinsale at a Golden Globes afterparty. A gorgeous actress isn’t exactly the worst person in the world to rebound with, right? Let’s just hope that both Ariana and Pete continue to move on in peace.
