She’s honoring the man who would have been her father-in-law. Ariana Grande and her fiancé, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, are used to proclaiming their love for each other by getting tattoos, and Ariana’s new tattoo is a little bit more special. Her new ink seems to be a tribute to Pete’s late father Scott Davidson, an FDNY firefighter who died during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in NYC.

Ariana had stepped out with Pete for a stroll in NYC earlier this week, and fans noticed that Ari was sporting some new ink on the top of her right foot, according to E! News. Once zoomed in, it’s easy to see that Ari’s tattoo is a series of numbers that end in “418” — which is the same as the last three digits in Scott’s former FDNY badge, 8418. Pete also has his father’s badge number tattooed on the inside of his arm.

This isn’t the first time that Ariana and Pete expressed their love for each other via their ink. Just three days after going Instagram official with Ariana, Pete took to Instagram to reveal not one, but two tattoos in tribute to Ariana. Pete got a tatt of a a bunny mask that is similar to the one Ariana wore on the cover of her album, Dangerous Woman, and he also tattooed her initials on his knuckle.

Even though things between Pete and Ariana seem to be going strong, one of Pete’s tattoo artists Jon Mesa said that he advised Pete from getting any more tattoos of Ariana since their relationship is still so new after they started dating in May.

“I told Pete, ‘Hey, dude, let’s just stop with the girlfriend tats until after [Ariana’s] your wife,'” Jon told Page Six. “Relationships come and go, and Pete is a really young man. I think that went in one ear and out the other.”
