Get well soon! Bachelor in Paradise star Blake Horstmann revealed that he has a black eye and fracture in his orbital floor after being punched in the face by a stranger. Taking to Instagram Stories on Monday, January 6, the ABC alum gave fans a glimpse at his scary injury while revealing what happened that afternoon.

“Unfortunately, I was in New York, and some crazy person decided to punch a bunch of us standing there, and I was on the wrong end of one of the punches, unfortunately, me and like four other people,” he explained, noting how his 2020 was not going smoothly so far.

“Yeah, good start to the new year, happy new year,” the TV personality added.

The 30-year-old was originally planning to recap Peter Weber’s highly anticipated new season of the popular dating series, and this certainly put a damper on it.

“I don’t know how much of the Bachelor breakdown I’ll be doing, because I don’t think you guys are gonna want to look at my broken face all day,” Blake explained. “It already looks a thousand times better than it did a couple days ago, but yeah, if I’m not doing a lot tonight for the recap of The Bachelor, that’s why.”

Blake is reportedly waiting for the bruising and swelling to go down to find out if he will need surgery.

Just a few days ago, the reality star shared a photo of himself smiling in Times Square. “2019 was a bumpy road. Mistakes were made and lessons learned. Never been more excited to ring in a new year … 2020 is gonna be a good one,” he wrote.

One fan replied, “I’m rooting for you!” while another chimed in, “Making mistakes makes you human. It’s just harder making them in the spotlight. Asking forgiveness as you did, making it right, moving on [and] doing better is what makes you grow.”

Fans previously watched Blake try to find love on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018. Even though they did form a connection, the sales representative ended up placing second.

In the summer of 2019, he appeared on season 6 of the spinoff Bachelor in Paradise.
