Does Brian Littrell Have Kids? Meet the Backstreet Boys Member’s Son Baylee After ‘American Idol’ Debut
Brian Littrell is best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys, but behind the scenes he’s a proud father of his son, Baylee Littrell. Following Baylee’s debut on American Idol in March 2025, fans are wondering about Brian’s kids and family life.
Does Brian Littrell Have Kids?
Brian and his wife, Leighanne Wallace, welcomed son Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell on November 26, 2002. Baylee is the couple’s only child.
Who Is Brian Littrell’s Son Baylee?
Baylee is following in his father’s footsteps and is pursuing a career in music, and he’s been open about how his upbringing inspired his own goals.
“I’ve pretty much grown up on the road since I can remember. So my first crib was a bunk on a tour bus,” Baylee told People in April 2023. “So really, my first memories are being out on the road and being abroad.”
Baylee added that he had “completely out of the ordinary” experiences while on the road with the boy band, though insisted that it was “amazing.”
“I got to introduce my dad at 5 years old,” he continued. “And then when I was 10, I started opening up for them. I would sing two or three songs before the opener would come out and play their set. And then that transcended into 2019, being able to go on a 42-show run with them and be the official opening act. That was the experience of a lifetime.”
Baylee Littrell Auditioned for ‘American Idol’
Baylee auditioned for season 23 of American Idol during the March 9, 2025, episode, and he revealed his father’s identity after judge Carrie Underwood noted that he looked familiar.
While talking to the cameras, Baylee explained how watching his father pursue a music career inspired him to have his own.
“Following in my dad’s footsteps is scary because his career to me is one of the most extraordinary in music history. No one can ever compare,” Baylee shared. “I remember being 8 or 9 years old and they sold out this huge arena and I got to open up for them. I just had my two little songs and I came off stage and when the guys went on, the screams and the lights went down. I was just mesmerized.”

Meanwhile, Brian also opened up about what it was like to watch his son follow in his footsteps. “Obviously, growing up in the industry, a lot of people look at that as such a perk. But it’s not easy,” the “Everybody” singer said. “I’ve always told everybody that he’s 10 times more talented than I ever was.”
Brian continued to praise the hard work his son put into his music as they waited for his audition to be over. “We’re super proud. … I think he’s cut out for it,” he said.
After Baylee impressed the judges with his addition, judge Luke Bryan invited Brian to sing the chorus of the song with him. Following the sweet moment, Luke, Carrie and Lionel Richie all voted to send Baylee to Hollywood.
Despite making a name for himself on American Idol, Baylee was one of the six contestants not selected to move on to the top 14 round during the April 21, 2025, episode.
“My American Idol journey has come to an end,” Baylee wrote via Instagram following his elimination. “Thank you so much to all that supported me this season. I love you all.”
Meanwhile, Brian also reacted to his son being kicked off the show. “Bubba I am and always will be in your corner. You are so strong and so very talented, and inspire me every day. It’s never the end, only the beginning for so many to be blessed by your gifts….. you killed it last night,” the proud dad wrote in the comments section of Baylee’s post.
