Caitlyn Jenner Was Not ‘Surprised’ About ‘KUWTK’ Going Off the Air: ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’
Left out? Caitlyn Jenner said “nobody called” her about Keeping Up With the Kardashians going off the air. “I heard it through the media,” Caitlyn told Australia’s The Morning Show on September 10, two days after the famous family dropped the big announcement.
That being said, the I Am Cait star, 70, praised their impressive empire. “Was I surprised? No … Shows do come and go. This one has by far done the best, I think, of any reality show in history. So, at some point, it’s going to come to an end. I wasn’t surprised,” she explained while noting “nothing lasts forever.”
The gold-medal Olympian continued, “It’s probably the greatest reality show in history … but I just am so proud of the kids for doing such a great job over the years. I mean, they did an amazing job.”
Caitlyn speculated the ladies walked away because “everybody is in a different place now” with families and careers of their own. “The girls have done and Kris [Jenner] has done just an amazing job with the show and keeping it going this long,” the Secrets of My Life author added. “I think it’s time to move on. What a run.”
The show produced two nearly-billionaires with Kylie Jenner starting her Kylie Cosmetics empire and Kim Kardashian’s various ventures like KKW Beauty, Skims and KKW Fragrance. Khloé Kardashian has her own clothing company, Good American, while Kourtney Kardashian founded lifestyle site Poosh last year. Of course, Kendall Jenner is always busy jetting around the world an international model.
“They have very busy lives and they’ve all branched out into other things,” acknowledged Cait. “And so, I think they really want to pursue the other things probably more right now ’cause there’s where their future is.”
Fans were shocked when the Kardashian-Jenner family announced that KUWTK would be coming to an end after season 20 airs in 2021. “It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” a joint statement first posted by Kim began.
The message continued, “After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spinoff shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
It’s a new chapter!
