Chrissy Metz Says She Would "Love" to Start Her Weight Loss Journey on 'The Biggest Loser'

Actress Chrissy Metz is getting real about weight loss, her size, and body image.

The breakout star of NBC’s hit TV series This Is Us opened up about the similarities between herself and her character, Kate Pearson, and she revealed — unlike Kate’s immersive weight loss journey at fat camp — that she would like to take a rigorous approach to losing weight.

“I would love to go on The Biggest Loser, where it’s a concentrated thing,” the 36-year-old told Marie Claire.

She went on to explain that even though she is body positive, the reason she would like to take a faster approach to weight loss is because of the health complications that arise in people who are overweight. She said that her father had to undergo quadruple bypass surgery because of his weight and she doesn’t want to go through that.

Chrissy also shot down rumors that weight loss was part of her contract for her role in This Is Us, and said that she does want to lose weight — but she wants to do it on her own terms.
